grams. For proper selection and
culling it is necessary that the
entire herd be evaluated object-
ively, The Elite Herd Policy for.
Swine is designed to encourage
complete herd improvement and
to give recognition to those
breeders who are successful
obtaining this objective.
Breeders whose herds have
qualified for "Elite" status are
the breeders of the province who
are making the greatest
efforts toward real herd Ira-
prevenient.
EWART McKERCHER
The funeral service war held
Saturday for William Ewart
McKereher of Gorrie, who died
at Goderich, Thursday, after a
lengthy Illness. He was 70.
A son of the late Mx. and Mrs.
Alexander MoKercher, he was
horn in Howick Township Dec,
4th, 1897 and was a former re-
sident of W roxeter.
A retired farmer, Mr. Me-
Krcher was director of the
Howiplt, Panniers Mutual Fite
insurance Co., for 26 years and
president for seven yeats..
He was predeceased by hisi
first wife, the fottner . Margaret
_McDougall, in 1943 and his Becl-
oud Wife, the former Pearl
DodglaS in 1947,
Surviving are three daughters,
Mrs. Adam (Betty) Kennedy of
Tees water, Mrs. 'William (Doris)
Allis, Kitchener and Mat, Lotne
(Audrey) 'Lennox of Thornhill;
two brothers, Tyndall of HoWick
Township and Allin of James-
towi., and 10 grandchildren.
Rev. John Brush of MolesWerth
I Presbyterian Church conducted
the service at Moir Funeral
Home iii Carrie.
