The Junior Choir made it's
initial appearance at the regular
service in Knox . Presbyterian
Churn on :Staley, Nov, teth, at
two o'clock. This choir consisting
of 21 girls and boys was trained
by the organist, Mrs, Stewart
Steles and contributed a special
metier during the service.

Cranbrook Evening Group
The November meeting of the
Cranbrook Evening Grotip was
held at the home of Mrs, Deng
Evans With twelve members
present. The president, Eleenor
Stevenson, opened the meeting
and the devotional pert was in

MRS. CHARLES NICHOLSON
Mrs, Charles Nicholson, died
Sunday in Wingham and Dist.
riot :Hospital in her 70th year.
She was the former Myrtle
Gasby, born in Morris freWnsli10.
She is survived by her husband,
one son, Gordon of RR 4 Brussels;
two daughters, Mrs. Bert -(elms)
Elliott, RR 2, islyth; Mrs. William
(Shirley) Gnus, Listowel; three
sister, Airs. Russel (May) Brad4
sham, alt 2, Bluevalo; Mrs, Joiiti
(Fannie) Reitley. Brussels; Alt's.
Clarence (Marjorie) Johnston,
Blyth; eight grandchildren
•. The funeral service took
place from the D. A. Rann funeral
torte, Brussels, on Tuesday at
2 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rev.
Allan Johnston of Brussels United
mirth officiated.
Pallbearers were Aubrey Mc-
Mahon Carman 'Haines, Albert
Skelton, Leo Meitner, Ross Smith,
George Turnbull.
Burial was in Brussels ceme-
tery.
WILIAM R. SHOLDICE
William. R. Sholdice of Walton
died in Clinton Public Hospital
on Thursday, November 16th,
in his 74th year.
Mr. Sholdice was well known:
throughout the area. He bad see-
Ved the people of RR 1, Walton
as mail courier for the past
45 years.
He was a member of Deff's
Putted Church, llgaiton. He Served
overseas foe four years in the
First World War and was a
member of Brussels'Branch 218
of the Royal Canadian Legion.
He is survived by his Wife,
the former Martha McCuteheen;
one daughter, Mrs. Ten (Kiva)
Wilbec of Walton; a son Mac and
four grandchildren, all of Walton.
Also surviving are two brothers,
David, RR '1, Walton; 'Russel of
Stratford, and three sisters. Mrs.
Rtistell (Ella) Knight, RR 2, Brus-
sels, Mrs. Thomas (Catharine)
Most, Min-erten and Mrs. Orval
(Nora) Whitfield, St, Catharines.
The funeral service was held

Rev. G. A. Docken of Duff's
(dumb. Walton, officiated.
The Royal Canadian Legion
held a memorial service at the
funeral home at 9:30 p.m. on
Friday evening.

COUNTY WARDEN
Reeve Calvin Kreuter of Brus-
sels is a. candidate in the three--
way race for the Wardenship of
Tiuron County,
Gaunt. Sterling, reeve of Goder-
ich Township slid John Corbett,
reeve of Nay Township. are the
ether, two men le the race.
Mr, Kreuter is in the 11,th year
of municipal service in the 1711-
lage of Brussels. He sat on Coun-
cil for five years before assum-
ing the responsibilities of reeve
five years ago. -
GeOrge McCutcheoe of Brus-
sels was Warden of Huron in
'562. if there should he an elect-
ion this year and Mr. Kreuter was
defeated he Would automatically
be eneligible for Warden. We are
sure the residents of Brussels
wish him success.

ACHIEVEMENT DAY
Pour girls of this area received
horror awards at trie 441 Achieve-
ment Day held in Wiugham on
on Saturday.
Nancy Strickler, RR. 2, Brus-
sels, was awarded Provincial
honor pin and certificate. County
honor winners were Bonnie
Fischer, Judy Work and Mary
Grasby.
Airs. John Wheeler who has
been a. devoted leader of the
Brussels clubs received a 10 year
leadership award, Mrs, James
Thompson of Bluevale received
a 5 year leadership award.

The Brussels club was re-
presented by ten girl with their
leader, Mrs. 'Wheeler and assist-
ant-. leader, Mrs. Ralph Triebner.
They presented a demonstration
with Kathleen 'Knitter as the
eoni m entator.
