John is four years old and his
Mother is thinking in hundreds
these days. She's thinking of
Centennial and of the 200th an-
niversary of Confederation..
Considering all advancements
science, including medicine,
and the fact that there are about;
600 centenarians celebrating the
present 100th year, John's mother
believes her little boy has a pret,

Before the end of the year,
she'll have other items fore the

that they be saved on souvenirs.
I gave them to Joirm and then

word will be a cinder in 007,
t is retreshing to run into some-
one like jo1u Mother 'who has
faith in the future and faith
in people like John who; per-
haps, will he, better equipped
than we are to Make a good
world.
The theme we gave the Cen-
tennial of Canada's. Confederation
was based on the past, the present
and the future. Almost through
the first half of 1967, the cele-
brations have successfully re-
captured the spirit of our history
and has made us aware of our
good fortune being Canadians.
We've had our look 'at the past.
Are ' vc examined our present.
Now the accent must be on the
future. The time is upon. us when,
we must think and act to make
Canada better and the world
better.
