POST plIBLISMNG HOUSE 12.00 A Year 41 AdTIMM - 4.50 TO U.8-11- LETTER TO THE EDITOR What is Brussels Doing WhIghanai Put About Centennial :January 441, 1907 Activities This 'Year? IirtisSele BOA Brussels, Ontario Dear Sir: This letter is in roPlY to lig4n in your Paper Deeember 8th and °Gentlemen's Club News Items". I am a firm believer in the free- dom of expression, but T think Ii person should be aware of the facts before he makes rash and and rather rude statements. Also. he should know to whom he should direct his criticisms be- fore be does so. In the case of the comments concerning the performers of Circle s Ranch, this criticism should have been to the producer of the show who is in charge of talent, fees, content, and the overall present- ation Hof a show, not the perform- ers themselves. To the writer of the column T would suggest, he acquaint himself better with the operation of a television station before he makes any more rash statements. His comments regarding the use of local talent are totally without Justification. It you watched our New Year show, sett would have noticed a long list of performers who have appeared in the past Year alone, and that list was by no means complete. OKNX has always been proud of the fact that it has started. Many now famous performers, Al Cherney and Tommy Hunter, jest to mention two, The per- sonal attack on Mr. Leybourne wes oncalled for, and in very poor taste. Mr. Leyhourtie 'ap- pears in person perhaps once every two or three months. The rest of the time his job consists mainly of contacting local dance groups, preparing them, for TV and getting theni to the Station. T. for one am, truly gratefill for his assistance. There were a couple of other eoMments :made. hat T. feel they do not require' an explanation, heearise f cannot iin all good faith, take them. seriously, Let me say this in closing, Circle S Retie-ft iS unique in television, to-day, It is perhaps not as pol- ished and professional as Some other shows, but I feel that the sincerity and lionesit, effort of the entire group has over the years made an impact on the Viewers of this area to Whielt 'few other shows can lay claim. 'We at fICNX are always open conStructive but let Make sure the commentS are v e sted is the riscbt 'people and 8 proper spirit.
