On Wednesday last an event over
which Goderich has been on tip -toe for
some weeks past was finallyconsummat-
ed, in the marriage of J. J.Wright, Esq. ,the
enterprising, energetic and well-known
proprietor of the "Point Farm," Guds-
nch's famous summer resort, to Mias
Ellen Sutherland, third daughter of the
late David Sutherland, Esq., of Almonte.
The interesting oeremony took place
at "The Rookery," the summer residence
of Mrs. Albert Crane, and was cinduct-
ed by the V en. Archdeacon Elwood,
Rector of St. George'sChurch, Goderich.
John C. Currie. Esq., of Goderioh,
County High Constable of Huron, gave
away the bride, and the bridesmaids were
Miss Bessie Wri11ht, of Aylmer, Miss
Currie, and Miss Mabel Cameron,
daughter of M. C. Cameron, Esq., M. P.,
while Messrs Marshall Wright and
Thomas C. Wright kind'.y :wasted the
groom on the occasion.
The bride was arrayed in a dress of
ashes of rose silk, trimmed with satin
cord and teasels, and trimmed at the
neck and sleeve with Spanish lace.. The
travelling costume was of grey cloth,
trimmed with satin; bonnet of satin, with
cardinal ties and rases, and a handsome
grey plume. Travelling ulster of grey
cloth; hood faced with cardinal. The
trousseau was from the establishment of
R. B. Smith & Co.
After the ceremony had been perform -
t! tlia usual kiss was bestowed on the
bride by the groom, and as it resounded
through the room, it gave unmistakable
evidence of the enthusiasm which actuat-
ed the principals. Then there were the
congratulations of the friends present,
the signing of the documents, and other
et ceteras incidental to events of the
kind.
An adjournment to the dining root
was next had, where a most elaborate
wedding repast had been prepared by
Mrs. Crane. In the oentre of the "table
stood a monumental wedding -cake five
stories high, surmounted by bannerets,

After hearing the evidence on the part
of the prosecution, the presiding magis-

to send the case to the assizes, and the
judge was obliged to furnish bail for his
appearance thereat. Shortly afterward
Mr. Crabb was struck off the commission
of the peace. The case of the Queen vs.
Squier came before the grand jury
on Thursday last, and was thrown out
by that body, as being $ totally unwar-

that this vexed question has been at last
decided. Were Judge Squire guilty of
