Hensall, an Tues- day morning, 29th Mutt., Jane Barber, beloved wife of Mr. John Scott, Sr., a nature of Tarriff, Aberdeenshire, Scot- land, and for many years a resident of Tuckeramith, in the 55th year of her age. Mrs. Scutt was well and favorably known in this neighborhood, and though for many years in delicate health, yet she continued to discharge her usual household duties till a few months ago when deceased and her husband retired to the village of Hensall. Dashwood is situated on the boundary between the t)wnahips of Hay and Ste- phen, seven and a half miles from Exe- ter, and boasts of two general stores, two hotels, two carriage shops, two blacksmith shops, two saw mills, one grist mill, a shoe store, harness shop, tin shop, tailor and carpenter shop, fur- niture rooms, a jewelry and : eating machine establishment, &c., also a daily mall from Parkhill, 16 miles distant. There is a good opening here fora doctor, there being none nearer than Zurich, six miles distant. This work was done with a lancetooth saw. irochils h, OBITCARY. — On Saturday morning, 27th ult., the youngest sem of the late Donald McRae, breathed his last. His death was caused by s severe cold, which settled on his lungs. He was about two years of age. EPIDIMIC.--A disease of a similar na- ture to scarlatina, but in a very mild term, is very prevalent in this vicinity. The school is almost empty on account of it.
