For years I have boosted for
3russels, it's people, its business
places. Last week at the plowing
match, whci me down but our
own pipe band that I have prate-
' ed and I's afraid fled about. They
marched, well I should say swayed
and swaggered pulling one foot
out of the mud and then the other
foot. Ray Bronson had one white
spat and mud to his other knee.
Ivan Campbell and Ross Duncan
'had forgotten to shave their Upper
lip. Ivan looked real good 'cause
you couldn't see his face for clay.
' Then they took their positions
and the pipe major gave them the
go. The pipes thrill me and with
-pipers from all over Huron I was
really thrilled. I said to the crowd
'pround me, listen to that. Look at
our boys. I mean, listen, they
can't help the mud that's every-
-where. Then I was struck by an
atomic bomb, The major lowered
hie mace and the signal 'was
given to stop. All beads must or
tshottid stop With a crash. Ever,-
one stopPed but our lads. They
'carried on. This wouldn't have
teen so bad but they all bad a
different tune. Tom. McFarlane
eves playing "The man behind the
Plow." Charlie McLean was play-
ing "Scots Wha Ui.e", Ivan Catnip
bell, "The Devils 'Dream" (which
eves appropriate for a single),
'Ross Duncan was playing, well
have forgotten tee name, bet the
chorus is: We Vent you to live
as lOng Os you like, Slit when you
die see me and Ike. Johnny 'Willis
was playing the "Baker's Dozen
Daughters" and Davie Hastings
was beating out 'Wow Pry I Ani".
