1966 Reunion
the Daer Family held. their
annual reunion on Sunday, ;July
24th, at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Peter Campbell of R.R. 2, Blue-
vale with 40 in attendance. They
enjoyed a, lovely dinner after
dinner the sports and games were
condUcted by Mrs. peter _Camp-
bell and Mrs. Louis Blake.

group of young ladies trom.Brus-
sels presented a concert, which
was greatly enjoyed, at HUMP
View.
Piano and vocal solos and duets
a real variety program was
given.
Near the conclusion of the pro-
gram everyone in the audience
was presented with a hag of
Peppermints.
Much crralit goes to Marlene
Smith wl,o made all necessary
arrangements. George Baeker
and Glen Smith provided the
transportation with Fred Steph-
enson as chanffer for the Baeker
car. These teenagers deserve
much more credit than they are
getting. Jack Thynne accompan
ied them and assisted with the
program,

Ruby ,Tane Sholaiee, of Thorn-
hill, wife of the late Earl Simi -
dice died on July 29th, in her
05th year, Mrs.;Sholdiee was the
daughter of the late Mr. and
Mrs.. James Kernagba,n, of Brus-
sels.
She is survived by two daugh-
ters, mrs, Pill (Dorothy) :Hollist-
er, Toronto and Mrs. Ralph
(Heleii) MacHlachern of Rich-
mond Hill; six grandchildren,
and two brothers, LloYd. and
Clifford of BruaSels and a sister,
Mrs. Gain/ Jacklin of Swift
Current. Sask.
The funeral service was helet,
from the Piefer Funeral Chapel
Richmond Hill and burial was

The Royal Canadian Legion
Pipe Band, composed of Legion,
band, members from various
branches in several communities,
including a nninber from Brus-
sels, received a royal welcome
when they travelled too Sherril,
N.Y. to participate in the Sherril
centennial celebrations on Fri-
day. Saturday and Sunday.
On their arrival in Sherril
they were accorded an official
welcome by civic dignitaries and
were presented with the keys to
the city.
Along the parade route the
Conadian "Icilties" received
such an enthusiastic ovation
from the thousands who lined the
streets that the skirl of the pipes
and roll of the drums could scar-
cely. be heard, even by the
