He says "What can I do for
you?" I says, I'll have my shot
now. He says? are you a dog?
,I says, every Lion. in Brussels
says I am, and a dirty dog at that,
some even say I'm a female dog.
'Phis fellow was a fool. He pulled
out a big needle from a drawer.
It looked more like a Russian
bayonet and about the size of the
outside Lytle on an ensilage fol.%
He got a big old syringe, big-
ger than the average grease gun
fastened them together and then
says "pepare yourself" I says 1
already am. I'm. Prepared to for-
get the whole thing so I quick
beat it for the Gentlemen Club,
Here I had a reserved seat
right across and looking down.
It was a better show' than Barn-
um and Bailey's Circus. The first
to arrive was a lady we all know.
She had jt cat in* green wicker
basket built like a cage. She
picked up this cage and started
for the library steps. Then she
changed her mind, which of
course is a woman's privilege,
and replaced the basket on the
back seat of the car. She then
went into the library and returned
with the guy in the, clean coat.
What happened I don't know.
The cat was ontefr'of the car and
with one ,.jtunp was , heading up
eastward., t A boy with a collie
had just arrived and. 'with one
bound the leash was pulled from
the lad's-hand Mind up Mill street,
went the cat leading the dog by
a half a length. pa.st the Golden

the little girls would lift the
puppy on his feet as gently as
an angel could. They finally ar-
ved at the library door. All
kissed him and disappeared down-
stairs. In a few minutes up they
came, the pup leading the way,
all as happy as Len Lamont on
Saturday nice. Betty MacDonald
came up the steps with her cat,
Placed it on the ground and said
",get home'. One jump ,and pnssy
was half way to the' bridge. I only
hope if poor Tom, is told to get
home, he can move as fast and
get ont of harm's way as quick
as their cat. Frank Sellers had the
only dog that came by himself
Frank told him about it, so after
dinner the dog came into town
by way of the railway track. He
got his shot and left for home at
once. He didn't loiter around all:
afterncon talking to' shady char-
acters like Al Logan, and Jack
Clark, no sir. If I was Mae; from.
now on I would send, the dog with
the chop and let. Frank get the
cows up. 'Up the steps comes:a
mongrel; 'you cOulif tell its mother
was an airdale and'. its, father
came from the wrong side of the
tracks. What had happened Ls
don't,, know. First he tried to
catch' his tail, round and round
he went. Then he sat down tail
straight out behind. He raised the
twe hind legs as high as he could
