Our rooms have just. lately been
redecorates. Toe ceiliugs lowerua,
new oil furnace, ilea bath rookis.
But the biggest cost of all was a
new carpet to the tulle of $1400.
There are only two other carpets
in history to compare. The
famous Magic one .from Bagdad
and the red carpet they unroll
at Ostawa feu' distinguished
guests, such as Rivard and
Gerd ilaunusiager. Tnis carpet
of ours is g,reen, with four dit-
ferent shade* There Is faddy
green, paris green, sea sick green,
and the committee who bought iL
must have bees pretty green,
Well, I wanted to compel the Re-,
bekahs to hold their meetings In
the kitchen but 1 was voted down,.
I'll admit they give us donations
enough each year to purchase a
broem and, dustpan and maybe a
couple of tea towels. Then, in
the fall they have a pot luck
supper, so, carry on girls. bat
please remove your shoes while
in our lodge rooms.
Before leaviag I was given
my instructions. Turn off the be-
side heater in my room; if

shut the door; oh yes, would I
water the cactus, and, for good-
ness sake, watch the telephone.
If Isabel called first, tell her I
can go and then phone Della and
tell her I can't go, but if Della
calls first tell her I can. 13ah, you
don't try to find an answer to
this riddle. You don't answer the
phone neither, No problem.
Well, I went down town but, had
a poor afternoon. I could only get
into two arguments and both were
again my principels. Once I bad
to argue in favour of the grits
and once for the tortes. I went to
the club room and Roy Turvey
and. Charlie Draper neat me four
games. I jumped in the car and
the tiger in the tank must have
been tanked. I had to phone Sack
McCutcheon for a tow truck. I
gave him explicit instructions to
take me up the back street and
keep off the main drag. I got be-
hind the wheel of my Dodge and
he deliberately turned up main
street. Never did I see so many
:people I knew and never did J.
seem to have so many friends.
They were on street corners, up.

Even the merchants name out.
