celebrated their 45th Wedding
Anniversary, Easter Sunday,
with a family dinner at their home
on. Keele Street, Toronto.'
Mr. Jewell is the son of the late
Mr, and. Mrs. Henry Jewell, Mitch-
Mrs. Jewell, the, daughter of
the late Mr: and Mrs. James Wil-
liams, Mitchell. They were the
recipients of gifts of end tables,
table lamps and flowers presented
to them by their family.
The cottPle have nine children.

Municipal Office on. April 4th. C.

Knox Church. W'MS Meeting
Mrs. Clare Veitch -was hostess
for the Easter meeting •of the
WATS of ;Knox Presbyterian.
Church. The leader, opened the
meeting with an Easter thought
and the Scripture was read in
unison, the leader giving the
meditation. Miss Alice J. Forrest
pianist for the Easter hymns. A
reading "Gethsemane" was given
by Mrs. Dick Bradshaw followed
by prayer by Mrs. John Perrie.
Mrs, Glare Veitch read "The
First Canadian !Easter" and
"Easter Around the, World" was
read by the leader. The Easter
topic, was prepared and rend
by Miss Alice J. Forrest. The
business was conducted by Mrs.
Forl Dunn, president. Twelve
members responded to the roll
call -,vith an Easter verse. Sick
and shut-in calls were reported.
Mrs. Dick Bradshaw offered
her home for the May meeting,.
Mrs. Sohn Schnock and Mrs.
Mae Engel assisted Mrs. Veitch
with lunch.

Attracts Large Audience
The Brussels Legion Hall was
filled, and overflowing, Thurday
for the Brussels Lions Amateur
and Variety Night.
There were over forty com-
ipetitors participating in the
various classes.
The stage and front of the
auditorium were suitably decor-
with the Lions Crest and colors.
Lion Rev. Allan Johnston was,
as usual, a capable Master of
Ceremonies, keeping the pro-
gram moving and the audience
in a good mood.

the ;Grand. Trophy, audience
