Presents Fashion Show
To 'CaPacity Audience
A Fashion Show of spring and
summer wearing apparel for
M'Lady and the small fry was
sponsored by the Walton Women's
Institute. The showing took place
in the Walton Community Hall
on Thursday night by couftesy
of the following Seaforth merch-
ants; Clothes, Dye-Mar Store;
Jewelry, Anstette Jewelry; Shoes
and bags, Reads Shoes and Lug-
gage.
The hall presented a spring-
like atmosphere evith pink, yel-
low and green, trellis decorations,
made and arranged by the W, I.
members, and floral arrangement
by Steffen Florists of Seaforth.
Mrs. Roy 'Williamson W. I.
president, was in charge of the
evening. In her opening remarks
she extended a welcome to the
large audience'. The program was
opened with the singing of "0
Canada" and a solo by Kim
Humphries.
Mrs. Rae Hetether was the
accompanist for the occasion and
contributed a mdsical back-
ground for the fashion com-
mentary by Mrs. R. Kennedy.
1966 fashions were pleasingly
displayed by the following local

Humphries, Brian Marks, Lynn
MeDonald, Lois Williamson. Karen
McDoneld, Sandra Watson, Sher-
rill Craig, Mrs. Ronald Bennett.
Mrs. Allan McCall, Mrs, Stewart
Humphries, 'Mrs. Frank Walters
and Mrs. Earl Watson.
Fashions of an earlier era were
exhibited by Mrs. Dave Watson,
Mrs. Slim McDonald Mrs. George
Williamson, Mrs. Marshall, Mrs.
C. Martin, Mrs. Coutts and Mrs.
H. Craig. These, ladies sang an
old favourite after their appear
ance as models of the old fashion-
ed clothes.
Another enjoyed feature of the
program. was a. demoestration of
modern. Hair Styling by Pauline
Thamer of the Thamer Beauty
Salon. Walton, with Miss Linda
Travis, Mrs. W. J. Turnbull and
Mrs. Torrance Dendas as models,
Mrs. Toanne Sholdice was in
charge of make-up.
Mrs. Jan. van Vliet led a, brief
sing-song. Musical numbers were
contributed by (earl Travis,vocal

.Mr, 'and Mrs. Verne Grenke and
family were honored guests at
a dinner in the New American
Hotel on Tuesday evening.
Mr, C. L. Parker, manager, of
the Canadian Imperial Bank of
Commerce, the staff, wives and
husbands, gathered to spend a
social hour with Me. and Mrs.
Grenke, before he leaves to as-
sume his new duties as manager
of the branch at Coniston.
They were presented with a,
modernistic clock by Mr. Parker,
on behalf of those present, and the
children, Kevin and Keith re-

Plan Spring Flower Show I

M was held Monday, March meeting 21st, in
Brussels Public Library with
present,

Mrs. C. Hemingway, president,
opened the meeting with 0 Can-
ada. The minutes, treasurer's re, I
port and minutes were dealt with.
Business from these followed.
A motion by Mrs. D. Dunbar,
seconded, by Mrs. R.. Bennett, we
write Post Office about flower
boxes rathe than rose beds. The
secretary is to write secretairies
of other branches in Huron about
exhibit at Plowing Match in
Seaforth. Mrs James Mair moved
seconded by Mrs. D. Dunbar; sr e
buy seeds for the Juniors, Mrs.

Spring Flower Show and Tea, the
motion seconded by Mrs. L.
McCutcheon,
Miss Shirley Pipe favoured the
gathering with several piano
accordian selections which were
enjoyed by all. Mrs. C. Homing-

guest speaker, Mr. P. Westerhoud
of Clinton. who spoke on Modern
Landscaping. Mrs, D. Dunbar
thanked. Mr. Westerhoude. Mr.
Knight read the News Letters.
A discussion about the Centen-
nial Park' followed and it was
moved by airs. James Armstrong,
seconded by Mr. Knight that we
call tenders for grass cutting.
The making of a quilt using
flower emblems of each province
was discussed and decided on.
Mrs. Walter Kerr won the door
prize. The Queen. closed the
meeting, followed by a delicious
lunch served by Mrs, H. Small.

Ends Successful Season
.Brusseis curling Club. wound
up a most successful season on
Wednesday, March 30th With a
mixed spiel, and pot luck Supper.
Sixteen rinks took Part in the
curling. The club is most grate-
ful to the ladies who worked 50
hard organizing and serving the
supper. Thanks to theth for a J013
well done.

Annual Meeting
On March 122nd the annual
meeting was held in the arena,
with a large attendance. The
minutes 'of the last annual meet-
ing, treasurer's report and others
were all approved, The club was
shown to be in good position fin-
ancially, with, an increase in
membership over last season. A
slate of officers and committees
for the 1966-67 season were ap-
proved as follows: Geo. Mutter,
Pres.; Stuart Lowe 1st Vice Pres.
Clare Veitch 2nd. V. Pres.; Do-
lores Wheeler, Sec.: Frank Cart-
er, Treas. and a long list of
committees in readiness for next
season.

The Huron 'County Federation
of Agriculture Directors, Com-
modity Groups and their wives,
held a social ,evening in ,Carlow
Community Hall to say goodbye to
'Florence Elliott. se.- good card
game was enjoyed by all. Charles
Thomas. president of the Huron
County Federation presented Mrs.
Elliott, with a lovely .a-piece set
of luggage. Mrs. Elliott thanked
all for their best wishes. Cake
and ice cream was then served,
