LETTER TO THE EDITOR
In regard to..that crack about
the Brussels Fire Brigade in the
Gentlemen's Club I would like
to have something to say about it.
You can tell that neither the
writer or the man's name men-
tioned. had ever served on the
Fire Department. Do you rememb-
er a few years back when there
were two very bad fires that
claimed four lives? Do you think
you would Dave taken their
places on, those nights? Then
there was a fire: on. the main bus.
iness section. What, would be left
of that block if You hadn't had
prompt Fire Brigades?
I've seen these men, fight fires
and come home soaked to the
skin, and vomiting because of
smoke in their lungs. These; men
are risking their lives for you
people in this -village and how
mirth do you appreciate it,
The Firemen are holding a
dance in April. Do you suppose
Some of you citieris could come
out and support them? If you
want a good fire department in
town yott MSc) expect good equip-
ment. They need money to buy
this with you. know.
Last year they put on a dance
to raise thuds for the new Legiou,
All who were there Were the
old faitliftils plus the Firemen
and their wives. Ralf of the town
people were at a dance just a
few' Miles out of town. The other
half were sitting at ionic, watch=
big television. too lazy to get
dressed.
Why not get out and support.
Your local Fire Brigade. It would
he far -,vorse i,C YOU had to wait
ro a fire brigade to travel 15
folios hofore they even get to the
Tire andwhat Weald you have
ft hy that tine.
