Mrs. Gerald Gibson, who was convenor of the prograin, opened the meeting and read a poem, "The Races of the Earth". Mrs. Evans read the scripture pas- sages which were the basis of the new study "Missions — The Christian's Mrs. Gibson headed a most in- teresting discussion on the topic "Called for a P,urpose". Audience participation was 'invited and received. The history of the Israelites was traced, verse by Terse, as they travelled from Egypt to Canaan. Mrs. Gibson added a summary and was assist- ed by Mrs. Orwell Elliott, Mrs. George Elliott and Mrs. James Armstrong with suggestiona for w Mrs. Harvey Dennis led in prayer Airs, JahieS Moir took charge or the meeting for the business. Plans for the World Day of Prayer which will be held in Melville Church on February 25th were discussed. A gift of money from the rel. atives of Mrs. W. L. Speir was acknowledged.
