The minister also thanked the congregation as family and minister, for the !kind- ness and co-operation shown during the year. Mr. Clarence Martin thanked Higginbotham and family for their great interest and leader- ship throughout the year. The meeting closed with the• singing of the Doxology prayer offered by the minister. A special vote of thanks was given by Rev. Higginbothatn. to Duff's United Church Annual Meeting The annual meeting of Butt's ,United Church was held in the church schoolroom with a good attendance. Arthur HAggiabothani presided ever the meeting opening with- hymn 41 "Ye Ser- ants of the Lord" and the Scriipture reading tollowed by prayer. Mrs. Harvey Craig was appointed secretary ter the even- ing and read the minutes of last year's annual meeting, Dur- ing 1965 there were 15 bap - tisms, three marriages and two burials. The different phases of the reports were reviewed by Rev. Higginbotham anci explained Particular credit Was given to the Board of Stewards in the interest they took during the time the ijurnace and other emiiiipment were installed. Great praise was given to the United. Church Women for the work accomplished during the year, with Mrs. Emerson Mitch- ell as president. The secretary !Mrs. Campbell Wey, gave an encouraging report. The Sunday School report showed a successful year, under the leadership of Mr. Martin. Baan. Mrs. Neil McGavin, on be- all of the CGIT, explained the work being done. Rev. Higgin- botham thanked Mrs. McGavin and Miss Shirley Bolger and the 'girls for the many things ac- complished during the year. The' Mission Band work, was reported by Mrs. Walter Bewley, stating .the money was given to the Preshtery project and to Missions from the mite, boxes.
