changed 'VOWS with Lyle Roger
Osborne, Mitchell, in Brussels
United Church. Rev, Allan John-
ston, Brussels, performed the
wedding ceremony. The bride is
the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Herman Whitfield, Brussels, and
the bridgeroom is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Howard Osborne. R.R. 2,
Monkton, Baskets of bronze, yel-
low and gold chrysanthemums
and ferns formed the setting
while Miss Barbara McKay, of
Kitchener, accompanied by the
.organist, Mrs. Wm. King, Brus-
sels, sang "The Wedding Prayer"
and "I'll Walk Beside Yon."
Given away by her father, the
bride was gowned in white silk
peau. Appliques of Guipure lace
accented the scoop neckline
and the floor-length A-line skirt.
The gown also featured Tily-point
sleeves, tiny bows at the empire
waistline. and a detachable train
falling from the back waist. Her
shoulder-length veil of nylon tulle
was held by a headpiece of drop
crystals and pearls. She carried a
cascade of yellow roses and gold
chrysanthemums. Wearing similar
gowns of gold chiffon over taffeta
were the maid of honor, Miss
Sharon. Whitfield, Waterloo, sist-
er of the bride, and the brides-
maids. Miss Shirley Orth. List-
owel, and Miss Gail Struthers,
RR 2, AtWood, cousin of the
bride. Their dresses featured back
overskirts extending from empire
waistlines. They wore bow head-
pieces with veils and carried
baskets of bronze and gold chry-
santhums. Jacqueline ,Osborne,
sister of the bridegroom, and
Rozalin Schefter, cousin of the
bride, were flower girls. They
wore dresses of gold chiffon over
taffeta with matching headpieces,
and carried baskets of bronze and
gold chrysanthemums. Gerald
Preistap, Lucknow, was grooms,'
man. Ushering the guests were
Gary Osborne, Searortn, Cousin
of the bridegroom, and Fiarlan
Osborne. Monkton, brother of the
bridegroom, Following the cere-
mony a dinner was held in the
church parlor. The bride's mother
received the guests in the Brod,
hag-en Hall wearing a two-piece
dress of mink brown re-embroid-
ered brocade and corsage of
bronze chrysanthemums. Assist-1
ing her was the bridegroOm's
mother in a dress or, royal blue :
imported satin brocade and eor-
sage of pink chrysanthemums.
For the honeymoon trip to Port.
Arthur, Fort William and other
points in northern Ontario the
bride changed into a double-knit
sheath dress of romance blue with.
lace trim on the sleeves. Black
accessories and a corsage of pink

Ethel U.C.W 'Entertain
The U.C.W. of the Ethel United
Church held, their November
meeting in the churcn when the
Brussels U.C.W. and the ladies
of the Anglican church were
their guests.
Mrs. George Pearson led the
devotions. The topic "Witnes-
sing" was presented by Mrs.
Chester Earl. Mrs. Bert Godden
was in charge of the business.
Mrs. Godden and Mrs. Alex'
Pearson Sang duet, 'Mrs. Doris
Hanna and Mrs. JIm Struthers
took the collection.
'Mrs. B. Godden and Mrs. Stan
Speiran poured tea and lunch was
served by committet in charge.

exchanged wedding vows in St.
Andrew's PresbYterlan, Church,
Molesworth. Rev. S. S. Stewart,
Molesworth offiea.ted at! the
double-ring ceremony. Organist,
Sidney Jones, Monkton, accom-
panied soloist, Miss Ruth Henry,
Listowel, who sang "Wedding
Prayer" and "0 Perfect Love."
Given in marriage by her father,
the bride wore a white satin
floor-length gown, styled with, a
rounded neckline and lace jacket
with button-trimmed back and
lily-point sleeves. A peau de soie
pillbox headpiece secured her
short veil of nylon tulle, and she
carried a boquet of pink roses,
white carnations and lily of the
valley. The maid of honor. Miss
Martha Van Loo, RR 2, Wroxeter,
sister of the bride, were a street-
length dress of turquoise satin
fashioned with a full skirt. cum-
mberbund, Peter Pan collar and
elbow-length sleeves. She carried
a boquet of white and red car-
nations and lily oi the valley.
The bridegroom's Prettier, Roger
Smith, RR 3, Brussels, served as
his best man, while another
brother, Larry Smith, also of RR
3, Brussels, and William Van Leo,
Guelph, brother of the bride ush-
ered the guests. The bride's
mother. wearing a turquoise
dress with a black lace over-lay
and black accessories, received
the guests at a reception. in the
,Kurt7Arille. Community Centre-

to her wedding she was honored
at a Miscellaneous shower held
at the home of Mrs. Tyndall Mc-
Kercher, Listowel. Out-of-town
guests attended from Brussels
Monkton, Flint, Mich., Hesperia, U.
S., Clifford , Waterloo and Guelph.

The Christmas meeting of Mel-
ville Church W.M. S. was held in
the church parlour December 3rd.
with the convenor Mrs. Wm. C.
King in the chair,
The meeting was opened by a
poem "The Light of the World"
and Invocation prayer followed
by a Christmas carol, Mrs. Ada.
Armstrong read the scripture
lesson and Mrs. Williams led in
prayer. The solo, "0 Holy Night"
was beautifully rendered by Mrs_
Margaret Thompson, Mrs. King
gave the topic "Star in the East-
ern Sky" telling the Christmas
story in an impressive way, stres-
sing God's plan of coining into
the world as a babe and living
the Rumble life of a carpenter,
in the pure, holy way that man-
kind could follow, instead of the
pomp and glory of a royal birth
in a palace, tar from the lives of
cnnimon pEople.
Let us put this Christmas of
1905 into its proper setting, by
praise and adoration of the One
whose birth we celebrate, and as
we join in the festivities make
Christ the honored Guest.
The topic was then divided in-
to four parts, Voice of the Orien-
tal Christians. 1st.. Voice of India
and Formosa: 2nd, Voice of elf
