S}- OW-OFF DRIVER
IMMATURE, INFERIOR
The motorist who drives with
little regard for his own, or others'
safety could be suffering from an
inferiority complex, •according to
the Canadian HighWay Safety
Council. A member of the Couti-
cii's executive committee com-
mented, "The motorist with an in.'
herent feeling that he is infer-
ior or that. others consider him
inferior, becomes bold and reck-
less when he gets behind the
wheel of a motor vehicle. The feel
of the weight and peWer Of the
pedestrians."
Such a driver could be im-
mature, he, added. "He really
hasn't assumed adulthood. It's
as though a child were In mitre].
Of the car, with all a child's In-
experienced sense of ability and
authority." He advises drivers to
avoid this type of motorist as
soon as his eccentric, perilous
antics begin to show up in traffic.
Practice defensive driving, he
said, and suggested Safe-Driving
Week, December 1 to I, as a good
tittle to start.
