sentatives for the Wingham,
Brussels-Walton, or Wroxeter-
Gorrie-Fordwich areas, should
contact Mrs. Redmond at the
hospital.

The purpOses of the meeting
were to acquaint those present
with the progranune presently
being conducted by volunteer8
and to better co-ordinate the
activitieS of the many groups who
are contributing to the pleaSute
of the patients at the hospital.
Mr. J. W. Coulter, t.oderichy
acted as chairman of the meeting
and called on. Dr. J. A. Hagan,
Superintendent of the Hospital,
who spoke to the group and stres-
sed the need of volunteer parti-
cipation. in mental hosptials. This
participation would contribute to
the general understanding of
Mental illness and the position of
the hospital in our community,
Mrs. G. W. Ferguson, occupat-
ional therapist, outlined a pro-
gramme of activities carried out
'by volunteers in the wards,
library, canteen, and occupat-
ional therapy room.

scheduling of group visits for
each afternoon. For me first and
third Tuesday of each month, Mrs.
M'akins of. I3ayfield has organized
ward activities. Clinton ladies are
responsible for the programme on
the second and fourth Tuesdays.
Seaforth groups visit on the first
and third Thursdays, as do groups
from Wingham on the second and
fourth Thursdays, Individual
volunteers from Goderich parti-
cipate on. Mondays, Wednesdays,
and Fridays. Groups, from. many
parts of the county are assisting
with. entertainment, patients'
Birthday parties, picnics, drive-
outs, concerts, bingos, dances and
shopping tours.
