Library Meeting
There will be a Library meet-
ing at the home of MTS. Lylle
Gordon on Tuesday evening, Nov-
ember, 2nd, at 8 o'clock stand-
ard time. This meeting is for
Board members and also anyone

MRS. GEORGE KRAUTER
Mrs. Laura Km-inter,: 28, of
Ethel died Sunday in the Mein
sire Nursing Home, Listewel.
She was born in Ethel, a
daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs.
William Spence. ,Slie •was married
in 1911 to George ierauter, who
predeceased her in 1951. After
her marriage she continued to.
live in Ethel, She was a member.

Ethel. She is survived by sever-
al neicee and nephews.
The funeral was held from the
D, A. Rana funeral home, Brus-
sels on Tuesday at 2 p.m.,. cone
ducted by the Rev. Harry -Waite
of Atwood. Burial was in Mt.
Pleasant cemetery, Ethel. •

MRS. ALEX ARMSTRONG
Mrs. Annabelle Armstrong 62,
of Brussels, died Monday in
Wingham and District Hospital,
after a long illness.
A life-long resident of this.
community, she was born in
Grey Township, the daughter of
the late Mr. and Mrs. Hugh
MoKinnon. Following her mar-
riage to the late ,Alex Armstrong,
they farmed in Grey 'Township,.
until his death, when she came
to make her home in Brussels..
She was an active member of.
Brussels United Church.
She is survives by two broth-
ers. Robert, of Bluevale and Cecil
of Toronto.
.The funeral was held from the
D. A. Rann funeral home on
;Wednesday at two o'clock. The
service was conducted by the
Rev. Allan Johnston of the'Unit-•
ed Church. Burial was in. Brussels
cemetery.
MRS.' AOHN WADE.
The death occurred in the
Wingham Hospital on Wednes-
day, 'October 20th, of Mrs. John
Wade of Brussels in her 72nd
year.
She was the former Nora May
Hilliker, daughter of the late
Mr. and Mrs. Wellington Hillik.er,
of South Norwich Townehip,
The funeral was held on Satur-
day, October , 23rd at. 1:30 pin.,
from the Rang 'Funeral Home,
Brussels, with interment in the
'Otter cemetery, Ottervine, Ont.

Doctor Coming
To Brussels
Dr. John MacKenzie M.1). is to
open a part time office in. Brus-
sels, at the same location as
previously occupied by Dr. Noble.
Dr. MacKenzie is a graduate
of Ottawa University and interned
at Victoria Hospital, London. He
is pow medical officer at the
Clinton Air School.

F arewell Concert
As anticipated, the Legion
Auditorium was filled to over•
flowing, with five hundred, and
many turned away, who came
from distant points, including;
•Oshawa, Toronto, aid 'London,
to join with those from Brussels
and community ana surrounding
i,entreS, in attendance at the
Jack Thynne, known in the en-
tertainment field across Ganhda,
and the U,S., as the Kansas
Fiarmer, Canada's Singing Vio-
mist.
APnearing to present • the • even-
ings ontertaiment• were Slim Mc
Clary, who introduced some. of -
the numbers and supplied piano
accompaniment for several otbef
performers; Clark Johnston with
Irish and Scotch songs; Scott
•Pawson, guitar and Kelly Dann,
l:mai lo, music and song; the •
'.a-linter sisters, vocal duets with
Yonne Mceutcheon at the piano;
the Osborne sisters, step dancing;
Ross Cardiff and daughter Dale,
eccordian and piano; • Barb Mc-
Cutcheon and Reg Skeleton, ina
comedy routine; and Mr: Thynne
himself with violin, singing and
,-,ory telling in.'his own .1111211-
ifable manner.
The dance *hien followed the
concert was opened hy Ross
Mann.
Many of his long-time fans ex-
pressed the hope that: this would
not prove to be his final concert.

The Girls Guides, of last year
and this year, and their mothers
enjoyed a supper in. the United
Chufch basement on Tuesay even-
ing, A welcome was extended to
them hy the Captain.
The highlight of the evening
took place after patrols and

the Division Commissioner, Mary
lir Million. presented Joyce Eel-
eleioe wieh her Golden Cord,
the highest honour in Guiding.
Joyce. expressed her thanks to
all these who had helped hot to
