Cranbrook Church Mark
Century Of Service
The. Centennial Services held in
Knox Presbyterian Church, Oran-
brook on Sunday, Sapt„ 12th, will

Favoured with delightful weather,
People came from near and far, ao
much so, that the edifice was
filled; to the doors,
In the morning the pulpit was
occupied by Rev. R. A. Jackson
M. A., Galt, who preached an in-
spiring sermon. Special music
was contributed by Bob Cunning-
„ham, soloist, of Ethel. A double
duet, composed of Sheila Strick-
ler, Myra McNair, Marie Veitch,
and Barbara Bremner sang.
The evening service was in
charge of Rev. David Crawford
13.A., Te.D., of Listowel. Special
music was supplied by. Mrs. Frank
Thompson of I3ressels, who con-
tribeted two beautiful solos, Mrs.
Stuart McNair was organist and
Choir leader.
Following me moreirg service
the congregation was invited to
partake of a very fine lunch,
served in the basement of the
church, also in the manse. This
a splendid opportunity for
the visitors to meet with the
home folk and renew old acquaint-
antes.
Those who returned to visit
their former church came from
Michigan, Seven Isles, Hamilton,
St. Thomas, Toronto, London,
Kitchener, Stratford, Petrolia,
Rockwood, Auburn, Listowel,
Seaforth, Wroxeter, Blnevale,
.Monkton, Walton, Brussels.
Conestoga, Brodttagen, Mitchell,
and Ethel.
Many have been the changes
in the congregation during the
past hundred years and it would
be difficult to foretell what lies
ahead. but if the congregation
and the community follow the
good advice proffered during
this fine Centennial celebration
there should he advances made
worthy of commendation.

Lions Club Hold
First Fall Meeting
The Lions Club 1101 their re-
gular meeting in the public
Library on Monday evening with
a gO(l attendance.
Following the dinner a Ong

Cecil McFadden. Roll Call was
answered by 21 members, Minutes
of last two meetings were adopt.

son for swimming transportation.

that the Lions Club look into the
possibility of raising money to
have our own swimming pool.
Something might be worked re-
garding grants through the
Conservation, Authority.

meeting adjourn.
LADIES
The Ladies Division of East
Huron Agricultural Society will
have a booth on the fair grounds.
If there are any ladies who care
to donate pies for this they will
be greatly apprecmted.

Mr. Mervyn McKinney, Tees-
Water, conducted the regular
morning service on Sunday in
Knox Church,
Beginning Sunday, Oct, 3, there
will be a change in time of ser-
vice. Rev. S. Stewart, Moles.

Brussels, died Wednesday, Sept,
1.5th, in HurOnview, Clinton. He
Was born in Brussels, son of the
late Mr, and Mrs. James Nernag-
ban, He worked as a carpenter
for a number of years. He is stir
vived by two brothers, Clifford
and, Lloyd both of Brussels; two
'sisters, Mors, Earl (Ruby)Shot
Wee of Whitby: and Mrs. Gary
(Ida) Jacklin, Swift Current,
Sask. The funeral service was.
held at the D. A. Rann funeral
home, Brussels at 2 p.m. on Fri-
day with the Rev, W, J. Moor-
rison of Melville Presbyterian
Church offielateng, Burial took
place in Brussels cemetery.

The bride is the daughter of
Mr, and Mrs. Gerald Exel, Brus-
sels and the groom is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. John Vader, RR 3,
Moorefield.
The 'bride chose a gown of ny•
ion chiffon over net and taffeta
.'with a full skirt, fitted bodice,
scalloped neckline and short
eleeves. The neckline and skirt
front were trimmed with large
lace boWs sprinkled with se-
quins. A crown held her elbow-
length veil, and she carried a
baguet of yellow roses, steph-
anctis and ivy.

be held in the Royal Canadian
Legion Hall; Monday, September
27, 1965, at 9 p.m: to make plans
for the coming sasons play.
All members of teams that
competed in the 1964-65 league
and any other parties that are
interested in playing darts, are
invited to attend this Meeting
