Congratulalions are extended
to Mr. Sam Sweeney who has
recently received his Private
Pilot Licence. To obtain this he
had to pass Department of Trans-
sport exams and complete at
least 35 hours of , flying. Sam re-
ceived his 'instruction from Sky
Harbour Air Services at Goderich.

MRS. MONTILENA FARROW
Mrs. MOIltilepa Farrow of
Brussels, died in Golden Year,
nursing home, Preston, on Thurs-
day. August 12th.
She was born in Winthrop, a
daughter of the late Mr, and. Mes,
John Pethick. After her mar-
riage to the kite Robert Farrow,
sire was a resident of Brussels
for the remainder of her life.
She is survived by three sans,
Russell, Jack and Prank, all of
Gait; one daughter, 'Mrs. Kenneth
late) Galloway, of Cobourg:
two sisters. Mrs. Watson Sholdice,
Grey Township; arid Mrs. Robert
Joynt, eleatorth.

Mrs. Mildred May Semis, 80,
wife of George Semis, eeouerich,
formerly of Brussels died Thurs-
day August 12th at St. Joseph's
Hospital, London after a short
illness.
Born in Brussels, she was the
in. 1909, later in, Clair-
Stewart 'Scott and Margaret.
Service.
Sine lived in Brussels until her
marriage in 1901, later in. Clair-
mount - then-returned- to -Brussels
where her husband was manager
of a bank here for a number of
years before going to Goderich
17 years ago. She was a member
of Knox Presbyterian Church,
Coderich.
She is survived by her hus-
band; one son, Finlay, of Goder-
ich; one brother, Walter S. Scott,
Brussels; six graridchildren;
and six great grandchildren.
The funeral service was held
from , the Stiles funeral home,
Coderich, at ia:30 p.m. on, Satur-
day. Rea. G. L. Royal officiated.
Burial was in Maitland ceme-
tery.

Escapes Serious injury
When Car Burns After
Rear-End Collision
John Pennington Jr., was fort-
anate to escape without serious in-
jury, from. the car he 'was driving
when it Caught tire atter being
involved in a. rear-end collision
with another car.
The accident occurred at the
corner 1% miles south of Brns-
els. The rear-end collision forced
the Pennington car across the
south east ditcn through the fence
unto the property of Mrs. Ella'
Shurrie, with the second car in
the ditch. Both cars were badly
damaged.
Occupants of both cars suffered
cuts and bruises.
It is alleged that the occupants
of tine second car left the scene of
the accident.
The accident is being investi-
gated by the OPP.
The. 'Brussels fire department
was called at approximately 11:00
pan, to extinguish the fire. A
large number of specators, al-
erted by the fire siren were else
on the scene.
