In March 1961 a building fund
was established and the interest
of the members was raised at this
time for a new hall, as the
quaters in the old hall were too
confined to allow for any
money making adventures. At
the general meeting of December
1961 it was passed that a new
hall he built.
As the former town hail site
was now vacant, It was decided
to approach the Village Council
to see if it was possible to pur-
chase this site. At the next
council meeting this was done
and the lot was donated to the
branch for the sums of $1.00 with
a Stipulation that an auditorium
be placed- in the building for rent-
al to local organizations for
meetings, dances etc.
Excavation: was Regan and
footings poured in November
1963, but due to the winter clos-
ing in, no more work was done
until the spring of 1964. The new
building was occupied 'in Feb-
ruary 1965.
It is estimated that the build-
jag plus interior fixtures will
run in the neighbourhood Of
$60,000.00 and it may be noted
at this time, contrary to the,
pohlic belief there are no grants
given for this type Of prolect
either from GovernMent Al enciel
or the Vdf10118 LegiOn Cenimands,
The officers, CommitteeS and

Crop Report
Recent shoWers have been
very helpful to crops in Ithron
County. The spring grains, beans
and corn in particular are show-
ing improved growth.
The large percentage of the
hay crops' , have been stored,
while the crops are slightly be-
low average in yield, the quali-
ty is excellent:
The pea harvest is in full
swing and yields to date have
been very favourable.
