Huron-Bruce) The anxiously awaited Golden- berg report on Metropolitan Tor- onto was tabled in the Legisla- ture on Thursday. Mr. Golden- berg recommended that 9 or the 18 municipalities of Metro Toron- to disappear to form the cities of Toronto, North. York, Etobicoke and Scarboro. The next question is whether the Provincial Govern- ment will see fit to implement the recommendations contained in tie report. The Medicare Bill received 3rd' reading in the Legis- lature this Week but only after a plodding, detailed clause by clause study, which in many eases provoked bitter exchanges between the opposition parties' and the government. The debate in CommiLer of the whole Hensel lasted about 20 hours, over a period of six legislatiVe sitting days. The Bill will come int) effect on June 1, 1966. The health estimates came berore the House this Week, It was pointed out cipring the esti- mates that readmission percent- ages for six of the largest Ont. arlo mental hospitals in March ranged from 40-60% and averaged. 46% compared to a provincial average of as% in 1960. The current session of the Leg- islature, already a record 96 sit- Ong days long, may fall just short of reaching the 100 day mark. Most members feel the• present session will wind urn in the next il days. 3 days'ai the most. Yet to come are 3 speeches 'winding- up the budget debate, a number of second readings and third readings. The largest previous session , 1922 lasted 81 sitting days. The lengths of the durrent Ses- Sion will undoubtedly inereaSe the pressure for 'a fall session al* though Premier Roberts Is op- dosed to the idea, On'Tee — Main Streekl SEAFORTH inasras • Town Dwarnaell • All Classes of Farm Property • summer Comps * ChM, lbstiselt, Mem lizteodsa coverage OM* swim water ileatage, Initinb c-,iijectze. etc.) Is oleo svailstok ,...G.L1ITS: James Keys, RR 1, seatortn; V. .1. 1.41.no RR 6, id4gartyrta 1A mr Lielper„ Jr., Loneerboro; Ndort Balm Briesela; ILLsrat• wire% Clinton; ,George Coyne. Hydro's new design unites the letters "0" and "H" and the printed form "ontario hydro". The vermillion and orange symbol will rest on a white background. A variation of the Ontario Hydro design, employing a "IT" and "H", has been created for the associated municipal electrical utilities which will have the choice of adopting either symbol for equipment, signs advertising, uniforms and business forms.
