The April meeting of the
Majestic Women's institute was
held in the Brussels Public
Library April Slit, at 2 p.m.
Mrs. S. Lowe, president, opened
the meeting with the Ode and
Mary" Collect. The March minutes
were read. The annual treasurer's
report showed it balance of $16.49.
A letter from. Hingham Retarded
Children's Centre was left to a
later date. A letter was read from
Mrs. H, 131air about centennial
plans. It was suggested we see
about having the Abiley 'tomb
stone renovated, as Mr. Ainley
was the founder of BrusSels, Or
as it was then, known, Ainleyville
Mrs. Ross XI-light, District Vice
President, was guest speaker,
taking as her theme parts of the
Mary Stewart Collect, 'Closing
with a poem on Friend,:ihip. Her
address Ives much enjoyed.
Mrs. Lowe thanked'Mrs. Knight
and presented her with a gift.
The motto was given by Mrs.
Harold Speir, Reports of Stand-
ing committees followed. Mtg.
C. Hemingway reported on the
District Executive meeting.
The District Annual will be in
Molesworth Presbyterian Church
on May 210th.
The County Rally will be held
in Walton on October 4th.
The Area Convention, October
10th and 1,1th in Guelph.
A two dollar donation is to be
made annually to the District to
be used for District Traveling
delegate to the National Conven-
tion,

The visitors Were welcomed and
guided through the rooms by PUP-
ils of grades seven auu eight who
also were in charge of the register:

and parents were free to discuss

A very plesant evening was en-
joyed by both parents and teachers
and much appreciation was ex-
pressed for the special effort put
forth by the teachers to provide
this opportunity for an informal
visit which should °ellen ail.

The Spoils
This saying certainly came
true for the players whose, skill
enabled the Pee 'Wee and Bantim
hockey teams to win the champ-
ionship in their respective leag-
ues. Mr. Bill Hutchinson of the
New American Hotel, kindly
provided a magnificant banquet
with, plates heaped high with
many delicacies. After this splen-
did meal he presented "Most
Valuable ,Player"' awards to Terry'
Eutedge of the Bantams and Iiim
litirnes of the Tee Wees,
Reverand Allan Johnston then
spoke on the importance of sport
in creating an atmosphere of unity
and good fellowship. Following
short- speeches by coaches Don
McLean and James Prior, the
boys were treated with a film
about the 1964 Grey Cup game
and a humorous film entitled
''Hurry, Hurry''.
A thanks of sincere apprec-
iation is extended to Mr. Bill
Hutchinson from the coaches, and
players for the wonderfully en,
joyable evening which he pro-
v ided.

Annual Ladies' Night
The Brussels Lions Club en-
tertained their ladies, and guests,
on Monday night at the largest
attended annual "Ladies' Night",
in a number of'years.
A banquet was served in the
Brussels Legion Hall by the
'ladies of the Legion Auxiliary,
'Each lady, on arrival, was hon-
ored with the presentation of a
corsage,
Lion President Charles Thomas
presided over the evening's ac_
tivities.
Grace was said by Lion Roy
Cousins.
The toast to the ladies Was
given by Lion Cecil McFadden,
and responded to by Mrs. Gordon
Stiles.
The "Suit of the Month" draw,
conducted by 'Lion Cecil Parker'
was Made by Mrs. T. L. Mac-
Donald, with Lion H, Thomas the
winner.
The roll, called by the secretary,
Lion H. TenPas, was answered by
each Lion introducing his wife and
guests.
A sing song was led by Lion.
Tamer Cecil McFadden, with Mrs.
Harold Thomas at the piano,
Zone Chairman George Mc-
Cutcheon informed the Lions of
the 'Zone Rally to be held in
Clinton. four delegates from the
local club to attend.
