REPORT FROM
QUEEN'S PARK
(By Murray Gaunt M.P.P.
Huron-Bruce) '
Last week saw the estimates
of the Department of Lands and
Forests before the House. The
Minister pointed out that hunter
safety has been given increasing
attention in recent years, and
the hunter safety programme
carried on in co-operation with
the Ontario Federation of Ang-
lers and Hunters has done much
to stimulate consciousness among
those who hunt. The current hunt-
ing season accident record at the
moment is favourable in relation
to last year's.
This year we will be taking
care of about 1604 Junior Rangers
of age 17 in 70 camps across the
Northland.
After a three-hour senate in the
House, a new flag was approved
for the province. The Liberal
Leader and NDP Leader, Donald,
MacDonald voted in favour of the
flag but both said they saw'
no need for it in view of the adopt-
ion of the neW Canadian
flag the debate the comment was
made that the purpose of any flag,
surely, is to unite a people and to
move to the future, rather than to
divide a people and look to the
past The debate was in sharp
contrast to the long and bitter
debate which, took place before
the adoption of the new Canad-
ian flag.
The proposed amendment to
the Canadian Constitution was
similarly approved though with
reservations froni both Opposit-
ion parties that the provincial
government Should have given
wider publicity to thn federal.
provincial meetings at which it
was approved.

DOES SHUR•GAIN FERTILIZER SPREAD BETTER?
At a quick glance SHUR-GAIN Selected-Granulated Fertilizer may look very musk like most other. kinds of granular fertilizers—but there is an important difference.
Most ordinary fertilizers and practically all custom blended ones consist of a dry
mixture of fertilizer materials either in powder or granular form.
As a result the different ingredients vary in size and weight. You can compare it to a handful of ping-pong balls, mixed with marbles. If you throw out a handful
of these, the heavier marbles will travel farther than the ping-pong balls—and that is,,ezactly_wha,t..happens with Ordinary fertilizers.
When you spread your fertilizer, with a drill or even more important, with any broadcast-type spreader you can be sure that every particle (from the smallest to the largest) of free-running SHUR-GAIN Selected-Granulated Fertilizer is nutritionally balanced no matter where it lies—assuring you of complete and even intake of all the plant food by your crops. There are no excesses in one area and starvation in another with SHUR-GAIN.
Another good reason why you can be confident of Imp Mums from sumt-umw--the finest fertilizer for your good earth!
