RE-:PORT FROM
Q UE.EN'S PARK
(By Murray Gaunt, M.P.P,
Fluron-Bruce)
This week was a very easy one
in the Ontario Legislature with
the completion of estimates of
the Department of Transport.
This created considerable debate.
'During consideration. of Trans-
port estimates, it was urged that
the goverment allow breath_
aTy z: r tests "as one concrete way
to cut down the toll of deaths
and serious injuries which result
from the misuse of our roads.".
The government introduced an,
act designed to ban strikes and
lockouts at hospitals in the prOIsi
ince. Considerable debate is an-
tieipateu on second reading.
'This Act, the hospital Labour
Disputes. Arbitration Act - 1965
would provide for compulsory
arbitration of hospital disputes,
only after conciliation had been.
completed without settlement.
'rile paramount factor in ap-
proaching labour disputes at
hospitals, suggested Mr. Rowan-
tree, is patient care.
Eetlier in the week, Premier
Roberts announced a full investi-
gation will he held into Farmers'
Allied. Meat enterprises Co-oper-
ative Ltd. According to govern-
ment sources public hearingS axe
expected to be held in a full in-
quiry under the Public Inquiry
Act.

Donald Patterson, (Liberal- 1
Essex South), critic of the Tour- I
ism and information Department,
called tor the government to
grant more power, more money;
and wider terms of reference to
the Ontario Development Agency
so that it could effectively help
the tourist industry. At present,
he said, the, agency is virtually
useless because it can only help
companies which have exiMusted,
all ocner sources of credit. He
questioned the 18 per cent in-
-crease in department estimates
for publicity, advertising and.
promotion branches and asked
for an explanation of how muct4,
money would be spent tor travel.

and liquor.

DOES SHIM•GAIN FERTILIZER SPREAD BETTER?
At a quick glance SHLTR-GAIN Selected-Granulated Fertilizer may look 'very mush
like most other kinds of granular fertilizers—but there is an important difference.
Most ordinary fertilizers and practically all custom blended ones consist of a drp-
mixture of fertilizer materials either in powder or granular form.
Asa result the different ingredients vary in size and weight. You can compare
it to a handful of ping gong balls, mixed with marbles. If you throw out a handful
of these, the heavier marbles will travel farther than the ping-pong balls—and that
is,,exiactly_what hapsens with ordinaryfertilizers.
When you spread your fertilizer, with a drill or even more important, with any
broadcast-type spreader you can be sure that every particle (from the smallest to
the largest) of free-running sifuR-GAIN Selected-Granulated Fertilizer is nutritionally
balanced no matter where it lies assuring you of complete and even intake of all
the plant food by your crops. There are no excesses is one area and starvation in
another with SHUR-GAIN.
Another good reason why you can be confident of top returns from SHUR-GAIN—
the finest fertilizer for your good earth!
