The local Lions observed, their
annual Father and. Child night at
their supper Meeting on Monday
night, held on this occasion in
the Brussels United Church,
Lion President, Chas. Thomas
presided.

the minutes and roll call by Lion

The guessing contest was won
by Miss Vonne McCutcheon.

was made by Miss Joyce Pearson
with Ed Watson or Blyth, the

taken to Listowel Hospital on
Thursday was later removed to
Kitchener where she is now a
patient.

of the Lions NHL hockey draw on
Saturday night.
Mrs. Gordon McDowell, a
former Brussels resident, is a
patient in the Kincardine hos-
pital.

Knox Presbyterin: Church lost
its senior elder in the passing of
John J. Gorsalitz, aged, 33 years,
on Sunday, February 7, in the
Callander Nursing Home, Brus-
sels. lair. uorsalitz was an elder
for 40 years and even when con-
fined to his room most of the
time, was always interested in
his church and its activities.
Mrs. Donald Cotton is back in
Listowel Hospital. Lynn Evans
is under a doctor's care. Mrs.
Jacob Fischer of Brussels was
removed from Listowel Hospital
'to Kitchener Monday evening.
Their friends hope for improved
health in the near future.
Narrow Escape
Bill, son of. Frank and Mrs,
Smith and Bob, son of Mr.
and Mrs. George Pearson, Ethel,
had a miraculous escape itoin
death or serious injury late Friday
afternoon. While returning frOM,
Listowel High School their "small
car was in collision with the
eastbound train at FAO. station..
The boys were taken aboard the,
train to AtWood where Dr. Big-
otow met them, taking them to
Listowel HOSpital. Bill suffered
mainly from speck and Bob had
minor cuts and scratches. They
