J. Bauer, the Brussels Massey, Ferguson dealer. The first prize winners will compete in the Massey-Ferguson bonspiel in .Hanover on Friday of this week. The twinning rink on Friday wilt compete in. JOHN J, GORSALITZ Qorsalitz, a resident of • Grey Township for 84 years, died at the Callender Nursing Home in 'Brussels.; on Sunday Morning, February 7th. Born in Wellesley, Ontario, Dec- ember 18th, 1871, he was the son of the late John J. and Mrs. Gorsalitz. Ile cam • to Grey Township when nine years of age, and -with h s parents settled on the 10th concession of Grey, east of Crain broelx. lie went to $,S, No. 7 Sfhool and spent most of his life in that vicinity as a farmer. On temher 27th. 1898 he married Annie Neal) r11 of Grey Town- ship at Kurtzville. Two children were born, Oscar J. of Prueden- viile, Mich., and Mrs. P. (171dith) Hayden of the 2nd concession of Grey Township: Also surviving hint are eight grandchildren: irenr bothers and four sisters. pre- deceased him. He was a xviember of Knox Presbyterian Church, Cranbrook, and a member of the Canadian Order of Foresters. Funeral service was held Tues- day February 9th froM the DA. Rann funeral home, Brussels con- ducted by the Rev, J. S. Stewart of Molesworth. Interment was In Ethel cemetry. Pallbearers Were Alfred and, Walter Knight, Finm Locking, Welland Kreuter, John Schnock and Seth Pride. Brussels -Girls Sweep Broom Ball Series Hearty congratulations are ex- tended to the members of the Brussels Girls Broom Ball team, and their Coach, Barry Mahan. The girls are well on their iday to repent their success of last year. They have not lost a game which gives them the 16 total pos- sible, noints. They won the final game of their current series against Win- gham in the Brussels arena on Monday night by a score of 6-0. Mehritlie church Annual Meeting The annual meeting of Mel- ville Presbyterian Church was held in the school room of the church. :A pot-tuck supper pre- ceeded the business meeting and. in spite of stormy weather a good number of the families of the congregation were: present. A program of games, songs and fims was arranged for the child- ren of the congregation while the business was conducted, Rev. W-, J: Morrison was chair- man for the meeting and James, W. :Armstrong. was secretary. Morrison opened the meeting with' a short devotional period and reports of the different organ- isations were reviewed and accepted. Mr. Morrison expressed deep appreciation of the effOrts of the dtfilerent groups for their 'co-operation in the work of the church, resulting in a successful year. Deep regret was expressed at the meeting at the loss of the late Me. and Mrs. Will Speir who had been valued members of the congregation , 'Mr. Speir, had been a member of the Kirk session for- many years. His plaCe on the board of Trustees will be taken by William, J. Berrie. Five Menibers of the Board of Managers who retired were re- placed by W. J. Arnistrong, Frank Thompson, John Armstrong, James Bowman' and Lloyd Ker- naglian, William IT.
