Church, Walton, on Saturday
afternoon, when Miss Faye
Luella Love and John Donald

ma -riage vows.
The bride is a daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. George S. Love, Wal-
ton and the bridegroom is a son
of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Mac-
'Donald, Brussels.
Given in marriage ny her
father, the bride wore a gown of
bridal taffeta embroidered with
seed pearls. A pearlized crown,
of orange blossoms held in place
her double French illusion veil.'
She carried a boquet of miniature
red roses.
Miss Ruth. Ennis, Toronto, was
bridesmaid, wearing a crimson'
velvet dress and carrying red and
white miniature roses

For travelling the bride chose
a White wool ensemble with a,

1965 Officers Installed At
Melville WMS Meeting
The W.M.S. of Melville Presby-
terian Church met in the church.
parlour on January 8th at
2.30 pin.
The ceremony of the installat-
ion of new officers for 1965 was
conducted by Rev. W. P. Morri-
son followed by a New Year mes-
sage on the subject of prayer in
the lives of Christian people.
Three causes Were given for
unanswered prayer. First, un-
repented and unforgiven sin;
second, selfish requests to benefit
ourselvei; third, "You recieve
not because you ask not".
A hymn was sung and the meet-
ing closed with prayer.
The new president, Mrs. James
Mair was called to the chair and
conducted the business part of
the meeting. The Secretary's
report by Mrs Matheson- Treas-
urer's report by Mrs. J. Spear. The
roll call WAS responded to by pay-
ment of membership fees. The
offering was taken.
A life membership certificate,
which is presented at the clos-
ing of the year, was given to Mrs.
George Evans.

BOARD MEETING
The inaugural meeting of the
Grey Township School Area
;which now includes Grey Area
No. 1, Grey Area No. 2 and S.S.
No. 3, Grey, Was held in the Grey
Township Clerk's office on Tues-
day, January 5th, at 2 p.m.
The following trustees were
present and took the oath of
office: George Pearson, Allan
MCTagg'a7t, Sam Sweeney, Donald
McDonald, and Wilfred Shortreed
Inspector Kinkead convened the
meeting and conducted the elect-
ion of officers which resulted as
follows:
'Motion of Shortreed and
McTaggart that. George Pearson
be chairman for 1965.
Motion or sweeney and McTag
gart that Donald McDonald be
vice-chairman for 1905
These two declared elected, by
the chairman.
George Pearson now assumed
the chair and carried on the bus•
iness of the meeting with Mr.
Kinkead acting as secretary.
Motion of Shortreed and' Mc-
Taggart that Norman Hoover be
secretary-teasurer of the Board
for 1965 at a salary of $600
— Carried
Motion McDonald and Short-
reed that the school account be
kept in the Canadian Imperial
Bank of Commerce,. Brussels,
that the chairman and Secretary-
Treasurer he the signing officers
and that 'they ,be instructed to
sign the proper forms in the bank
— Carried
Motion of . Sweeney and Mc-
Donald that monthly payments be
made as per contract. to teachers,
caretakers, bus drivers, secretary
and Hydro accounts when render-
ed — Carried
Motion of Shortreed and
Sweeney that the following
accounts be paid:

The meeting adjourned on
motion, of McDonald to meet'

Far 'Brussels is $200
The March of Dimes goal for
1965 is $780,000..00 and in
BRUSSELS we hope to raise
$200,00. Funds are very badly
needed to carry on the vital work.

abled of this district. Brussels
is Part of the South Western
Ontario Branch and there are 317
disabled persons already known
to the Ontario March of Dimes in
this Branch area. No doubt there
are many more who have not yet
come for help, not realizing that
something might still be done for
them in spite of long-standing
disability. If our readers know of
such persons, please suggest to
them that they write to the
District March of . Dimes office at
3'59 Dundas St. London, and the
easeWorker will call on them.
There are some people who can-
not be rehabilitated, for various
reasons but the March of Dimes
is anxious to be sure no one is
missed who calf be helped.
The March of Dimes this year
is being sponsored by Morning
Star Rebekah Lodge No. 315 of
Brussels, please watch your
paper for further information and
the date and time it will take

at the group's inaugural meet-

This is one of the CBC-TV's
Centennial series, Canada 98. Mr.
Machan, who is on the CBC staff
in Toronto, did research for The

Speaking Competition
The regular meeting of the.
Lions Club was held in the
Library on Monday evening with
Lion PreSident Charles Thomno
in the chair.
The guessing contest won by
Lion. K. L, Ashton.
Business included roll call and
minutes by Lion secretary Hank
TenPas. Correspondence and
"Thank You" cards from those
who received a turkey at Christ-
mas, were also read.
Plans for sponsoring a Public
Speaking e. iietntse.egt competition were discus-
sed. Ralph Pearson was named
chairman of the Public Speaking.

Tickets for the Lions NHL
Hockey Draw are now on gale.
The proceeds from the sale of
these tickets will be used for
community welfare work.

appointed a Curling Committee
to arrange for a Lions bonspiel.
Lion Jack McDonald reported
on the District A. convention to
be held in St. Catherines and the
International convention in. Los
Angles. Lions Selwyn Baker,
George McCutcheon and Cecil
McFadden will attend the Dist-
rict A. Convention, one more
from the Brussels club also to
attend.
Lion S. Baker brought . up the
subject of only one mail going
out of Brussels daily and suggest-
ed the Lions take action regard-
ing the matter.

Brussels arena defeating Ripley

Goals were scored by David'

or, all with one goal each. Larry
