Resident William Norman Stephenson 49, father of five young children/ was droWned on Thursday while on a hunting trip in the Durk's Falls district. The tragedy occurred when a boat overturned. Three conk panions were rescued. Mr. Stephenson's body was recovered Saturday Morning from 24 feet of water in Beaver Lake. lie was a son of Mrs. Maude Stephenson and the late William Stephenson of Brussels, he was born in Grey Township, where he had farmed life. He leaves to mourn, his wife, the former Maryzella Cooper of Fordwich, five children, John a.o, Kim. 9, Lorrie 7, Lois 6, and Alan 1; his mother, Brussels; one brother, Ross of trey Township; and one sister, Mrs. Colwell Speiran, Listovrel. Funeral services were held from the a A. Rahn funeral home on. Monday at 2 p.m. Rev. W. Morri- son of Melville Presbyterian . Church officiated. Pallbearers 'were Sno. Bishop, Wilfred Hoy, Fred Keifer, Thos. MoF'arlane, Jos. Martin, and John Armstrong Burial in Brussels cemetery., Memorial donations to Brussels Cemetery Chapel Fund, in lieu of flowers, were made by Mr, and Mrs. Harvey Stephenson, Walk- erton; Mr. and Mrs. E. Allen, Kordwich; Mr. and Mrs. H. Rib- bert, Goderich; Mr. and Mrs. R. Holland, Kitchener; Mr. and Mrs. E. Jewell, Toronto, visited in Brussels this week. Mrs. Ida Davis is home from it visit at Owen Sound and Des- boro. Mr. and Mrs. Roy MacDonald of Brigden were weekend visitors at the home of Menne Jackson. Miss Ruby Plum is holidaying with friends in Toronto and Ham- ilton. Mr. and Mrs, Clarence Rees and family of AiIse Craig. were Sunday visitors at the home of Archie Moses. Congratulation are extended to Mr. and Mrs. David Hastings who celebrate their 25th wedding annivernry Tuesday of next week. Mrs. Florence Smith is spend- ing a few days with her daughter and famil7,, on MarIttonlin 'Island Dr. and Mrs. Donald McRae of willovrdale, were visitors in Brussels this Week. Couple Celebrate Their Golden Wedding Anniversary Dr. W. L. and Mrs. McCutcheon of Berwick, Pa. celebrated their Golden Aniversary with a family dinner on Saturday, October 31st, at St. John's Anglican Church, Brussels, where the Women's Guild served a StimPtuous meal to 05 guests. Dr. and Mrs. McCutcheon were confirmed in the same class in 1910 by Bishop Williams and married by the Rev. it. E. Page November 4th, 1914. McCutcheon was born on the 6th line of Morris Township, the only son of the late David and Eliza Jane McCutcheon. He attended Medico-Chi college in. Philadelphia and is an Alumni of University of Pennsylvania. He practiced dentistry in Wilkes Barre and Berwick. Mrs. McCutcheon Is the former Ella Clark, daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth• Clark of the 5th, liee of. Morris Township. They received congratulations from a host of Mewls, relatives and Berwick neighbourS. Greet- ings from the Hon. John Roberts, Prime Minister, was presented by George IVicCutcheonr. They also received a gold pen and pencil set with names and dates engraved and a generous purse from the guests to purchase a gold chair on their return to 13erwi Open House, Nov. 4th •1964, Open House was held at St. John's Church, Brussels. In the afternoon tea was poured by Mrs. Annie Nethery, a sister or Mrs. McCutcheon, and a niece, MeWhirter. in the evening Mrs. Stella Clark and Mts. Lorne Nichol presided. The table was beautifully decor- ted with a three-tier Wedding cake, gold candles and mums. We extend our congratulations and wish the couple many More happy anniversaries. Rev. W. J. Morrison of Melville Presbyterian Church spoke brief- ly asking if we are worthy of the sacrifice made for us; will our daily lives bring blessings to those who came after; the future be- longs to the children of to,-day; teach them to believe in God and trust in .Tesus Christ, and tell them God is our refuge and strength. Scripture was read by Rev. A. .Higginbotha,m; of Duff's Church, Walton, and prayer offered by the Legion Padre, the Rev. H. L. Jennings of St. John's Anglican. Church.
