Damage at the pomMunity Park, road Meeks and fires On the streets Were the most serious occurrences. A section of the seats at the park were nirerturnea, which is a shame, for these things cost money.. We have a fine park and it is a..Pity to have facilities dam- aged in such a needless manner. Fires of tires and other debris were set, on the main, street, The fire truck was out to quench "the flames. Fire is not a plaything, and this is an extremely hazard- ous prank as the fire might easily have got out of hand and caused serious damage. A dangerous trick was staged when barracades were Plotted across streets 'obstructing traffic. A-car ran into one with consider- able damage to the vehicle. For- tunately., the driver was not in- jured; but her -and others, could have lost their lives.. •••••••••,/•••••••,•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••,••••=mmm/11•411••••••••••• HI-T NEWS Bobby Lynn and--the Beaumonts of London supplied the music for an enjoyable evening for over 130 teenagers. The glass was broken in a rear door of the premises in order to gala access to the building. They then, apparently, were about to enter the door of the front office but quickly changed their minds when the opening of the door set off the alarm in the building. Unfortunately no one heard it. The intruders then removed the glass in the dote' of the private office of the owner, R. B. Cousins. Oonsiderable damage Was done to the safe when they attempt- ed to open it by drilling, unaware that it was unlocked, They dis- turbed record books that were in the safe but got nothing for their efforts as it contained no cash. A wise precaution since thieves seem to consider it a prints target. The 'OPP are investigating.
