A banquet will be served by the Ladies Auxiliary to the Royal Canadian Legion; at 4:00 p.m. Tickets may be purchased from the branch secretary or at the Canteen. It is the express wish of the Leg- ion Executive that we have a large turn-out for this occasion, to pdy homage to our fallen Comrades. 4.4 It has been designated by the . Dominion Command of the ROyal Canadian LegiOn that the eleven days commencing Thurs. day, November 5th and ending Wednesdaef, Noember 11th, be Remembrance Week. A special flag will be flown for this week along Iwith our Red Ensign. This flag is of a white background with large, centred, Red, Black, and Green Poppy. Mrs. B. Thomas, Bluevale, occupied the chair. The theme for the afternoon was "Ambassadors for Christ" with meditations chosen from MALI, verses 1-13, and led by. Mrs. R. Knight, Mrs. S, Stephenson of Cranbrook, and Mrs. T. E. Kennedy, 13luevale, The key is the sYmbol ,of pos- session, Christians have the key of prayer which opens Heaven's door to all. God answers prayer according to His will for each one, The Treasurer's report was read by Mrs. T. English, the benefits of attending Kintail camp by Mrs. A. Mundell, Bel. more, and Mrs. W. L. Speir's report as read• by Mrs. T. A. Currie were presented as at Ripley. Miss McLennanon, Ethel, intro- duced Rev. G. Fish, Wingham, as guest speaker. He considered Missionaries, methods and com- pared our methods of missionary work with that of the Commu- nists, The Bible is a Book of , Mission. Our time is limited for sending out the message. Com- munism has been made so accept- able in so many places in the world in its ways of Method, means and matter. Pray God that He will send forth labourers into His ,harvest. Expect great things from God and attempt great things for Him, Women from Wingham after- noon. Auxiliary sang pleasing number "The World for Christ" Mrs, Keith, Teeswater, gave the offertory prayer. Mrs. Wm. Smith, Brussels ex- pressed appreciation to all taking part in the meeting and to the Gorrie ladies for their hospital- ity. The closing primer was offered by Mrs. Wni. Let the youngsters have their fun, let them visit and demand their ""'trick or treat" and let us be generous with our donations to their UNICEF boxes, but, let ti's hope that our more exuberant Punsters do not carry their antics too far, and wake up to find their fun has become vandalism with serious consequences to persons and property. "gloomy" one. 114.••••••11I. 0110010.14•11,1k BRUSSELS WOMAN IS INJURED IN ACCIDENT Mrs. Donald McTaggart of Brus- sels is in Victoria Hospitals London, with severe injuries received in a car-truck collision. AENVood McTaggart, driver of. the car, ,and son of Mrs. Donald .MocTaggart, and his wife, of Grey Township, were removed to Listowel Hospital following the accident suffering from shock, cuts and bruises and Mrs. Mc- Taggart also has a crcached knee cap. Both are out of hospital. Mrs. Donald McTaggart sustain_ ed two broken legs, and broken shoulder. She was reported as slightly improved at time of writ- ing, The accident occurred Satur- day morning on the 16th conces- sion of Grey Township when a truck allegedly driven by Richard Thorn, emerging from a taneway, was in collision with the Mc- T a ggart car. EPHRIAM PAHISH The funeral ,service for EiPhriarn Parish, whose tragic death in a car-truck accident occurred October 21st, was held from the D. A. Rann funeral home, Brussels, on E'riday, Oct- ober 23rd, at 2 p.m. conducted by Rev. W. S. Morrison of Melville Presbyterian 'Church. Interment, in Wingharn cemetery'. The late Mr. Parish resided in Wingtam for a number of years. He returned to Brussels, where he had been a former resident, about one year ago. He is survived by his wife, the former Margaret Guy, a sister, Mrs. Walter (Edith) Thompson. of Stratford; one brother. Earl Parish. Mossley: and three ball sisters. Mrs. Bessie Johnston. Nichol Are Honored On Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Nichol held Open House on Wednesday, October 21st on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary when they received congrat- ulations andtgood wishes from a host of friends, neighbours, and relatives. MT. and Mrs. Nichol were mar- vied fifty years aid at the home of the bride's mother, Mrs. Wm, Michie, by Rev. A. M. Bayle of Beigrave. CRANBROOK The October meeting of the Oranbrook Women's Institute was held at the home of Mrs. Russell )Knight on Thursday, Oct, 15th. The meeting opened with. the Opening Ode and Mary Stuart Collect, and the Lord's Prayer. The president. Mrs. Mac McIntosh thanked the convenors who helped at Huron,viesv, with the bus trip, with thelall fair display and those who took pies to the fair booth. It was decided to sell tickets on the fair display. Mrs. Wm. Bremner is going to place the wreath on.
