He died in Victoria Hospital,
London.
Surviving are his wife, the for-
mer Alice Nicnois; two sons, John,

COUNTY JUDGE AT GODERIOH
Robert S. Hetherington, lawyer
and mayor of Wingham for the
past three years, was installed ab
the 12th judge of Hurou County at
ra special sitting of county court
last; Thursday.
Judge Hetherington, 53, a native
of Colborne Township, was one of
three county court bench appoint-
ments announced last month by
Justice Minister Guy Fa,vreau.
Attending Thuisuay a ceremony
were 150 guests who included
county Officials, and members of
the bar association in the counties
of Huron, Bruce and Urey.
Judge Arthur Roy Wilinott, of
Toronto, chief judge for county
and district courts in the pro•
wince, administered the oath of
office. Middlesex County Judge
Tan MacRae, senior judge
of District. No. 1, which 1ncludes
Huron. County, presided at the
ceremony.
Huron County Sheriff Harry
Sturdy conducted the frocking, of
Judge Hetherington.
Among the dignitaries at the,
ceremony were Bruce County
Judge P. S. MacKenzie, of Walk-
erton; J, H. Crawford of Wing-
ham, representative of area law-
Yers and Judge Hetherington's
law partner for 13 years; and T.
A. Martin, of Toronto, represent-
ing the Upper Canada Law Assoc-
iation.
A reception was held at the Bed-
ford Hotel in Goderich after the ,
ceremony.

HOMEMAKING CLUB
Second Meeting
The second meeting of the
Brussels llomemaxing Club -The
Club Girl Stands On Guard" was
held on October 12th at Mrs.
Wheeler's home.
The meeting was opened with
the 4-H pledge. The Roll Call was
taken with all members answer-
ing. The minutes were read by
Gerda Esel.

"Brussels Cautious Cauucks" A

Good books were discussed. The
group work was a discusaion of
time-off.
The proper way to apply an

MURRAY GAUNT ATTENDS
YOUTH CONVENTION IN L.A.
Murray Gaunt, Liberal member
of praliainent for the provincial
riding of 'Huron-Bruce, has been
in Los Angeles attending a youth
convention there. Fourteen
members of the Youth Committee
of the Ontario Legislature made
ithe flight from Toronto Inter-
national Airport on Tuesday and
will return Friday, October,
23rd.
The group of fourteen from
Ontario is made up of all parties,
Conservatives; Liberals, and NDP.
Following the three-day con-
vention, the group will visit.

HALLOWE'EN BEST
WITHOUT ACCIDENTS
:When youngsters are out in
costume on. October 31, run-
ning from door to door for shell-
outs, there's a special traffic
hazard, which calls for all the
wisdom and wit a parent can
muster.
Sure, Hallowe'en is great fun.
Sometimes it's so much fun that
kids forget about getting hurt,
until they do. It's so natural
for a young child to dash across
the street without look.ing for
cars earning, if he's excited and
thinking abotit the loot ahead.
What can parents do? The Ont-
ario Safety League suggests
several things. Have a child use
a make-up face instead of a
mask, which makes vision diffi-
cult. Dress him in a costume
motorists are likely to see. Fluor-
escent tape as trim makes a big
difference to the visibility of a
dark costume. See that costumes
