Born in Grey Township, a daughter of the late AIL and Mrs. James Armstrong, she moved to Brussels with her family. A number of years ago she left Brussels to make her home in Toronto with her sister who predeceased her. She is survived by one brother, James Armstrong of London. The funeral service was held Toronto. A graveside service was held in Brussels cemetery wnere the body was brought for burial at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. A presenetion and dance was held in Ethel Community hall for Mr. and Mrs. Jack Swift, newlyweds of London. He was a former resident of Ethel. Robert Cuningham read an address. Mr. Bruce Speiran made the present- ation of a gift of money to the couuple, Dancing was enjoyed to the music of Ken Wilbee's or. chestra, MRS. JOHN ,McARTER There passed away on Friday, I October 9th, Mrs, John McArter, in Wingham and District Hos- pital after suffering a long ill- ness. She sways had a cheery smile and wave of the hand for friends and loved ones. She was born in 'Morris Towship and was the former Elsie Irene Beirnes, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs, Francis Beirnes. Surviving are her husband and three sons, Gerald and Jim of Morris and Melvin of Brussels. one son, Murray, died in infancy, two daughters, Mrs. Roy yischer, Bloomingdale, Mrs, Oscar Du- charme, Belgrave; two brothers, ,Leslie Beirnes of Wingham and Harvey Beirnes of Strattord and two sisters Mrs Lottie Caslick and Mrs, Mae Bell of Stratford. The body rested at the family home until Monday October 12th, then to the Rann funeral home, Brussels, where the service was' held at 12 p.m. on Monday. The Rev. W. J. Morrison officiated. The pallbearers were; Ward Sellers, Ross Cardiff, Thomas Miller, Clem McLellan, Ross Nichol, and William Grasby. Interment took place in Brus- sels. cemetery. Morris Couple Are Honored At Dinner A Thanksgiving dinner was held in honor of Mr. and Mrs. James Michie, who celebraXed their 50th wedding anniversary on October 7th,, at the home of their son George, 5th line of Morris Township. Those attending were Mr. and Mrs. Ross Anderson, Belgrave; Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Nichol, Mr. and Mrs. Robt. Grasby, Donna and Mary, Mr. Robert and Ernest Michie and Mrs. R Leslie.
