The entry list he said, was only
three or four persons higher
than last year. Weather for the
match was classed as ideal.
-Competition was held en the
t shortie Township farm of
Lloyd Ballantyne, about 2 1/2
miles east of ..1i1xeter. An esti-
mated 250 persons attended the
match.
Among those in attendance Was
Alston Cardiff, of Brussels, 311P
(I-lltrou - PC), secretary-treasurer
of the plowman's, association
since its inception in 1924.
Seaforth District 'nigh School
student, Amy Stewart, 17, daught-
er of McKillop Township Reeve
and Mrs. Kenneth Stewart, of RR
5, Seaforth, was selected as Queen
of the Furrow, at the march. She
Competed against two other
contestants.
The Queen was selected on
the basis of, a three minute
speech. appearance and deport
merit and an exhibition of plow-
tug. Runners-up in Ine compe-
tition were Mrs. ;lane McIntosh,
Clintonof and Miss Ruth Michie,
15, of Belgraye,
Miss Stewart will represent
Huron County at the Inter-
national 'Plowing Match to be
bold in Peterborough.
