R:: tJ WHAT THE INVENTOR, MR. FELLOWS, HAS TO SAY ABOUT HIS
SYKUP (P 1 HR 1-l1rPUPHOaPHI EES•
In t'te summer of 1864, 1 wa .u-1•lenly effected by s copious expectoration of
tuucrpurnleut matter. I had boon declining is health f .r some months, and, being
. z-eding:y n rvors, the eympt.oms •auaed alarm. As my baein••.•r w.s that of a
d sl.rnaing e!..mi,t, the shop was constantly visited by medical men, all of whom
trti.le ed their advice. During 1864 mid 1865 my chest was examined by ten first
class physicians, some of whom pronounced the cave Bronchitis ; some, not wishing to
cause alarm, or unwilling to venture au -pinion, gave no deci,:o t ; some stated en -
equivocally that I had Tubercular Diwase of th, hangs, and locate4 the trouble
where the pains were felt. By professioual advioe, I used, in turn, horse -book exer-
cise, country life, eggs and ale in the looming, tonics, Bourbon whiskey, cod-liver oil.
e:•e4 tr'.eity, tar, sed v.riota iahalente, but the trouble increased. Expectoration be-
came mon profuse and offensive. Night -sweats set in. Cold chills, diarrhoea,
dyspaass, cot>d, ss blood -streaked expectoration', loof sleep. Ices of appetite, loss of
memory, las o ambition, accompanied by general prostration, showed themselves.
Under the microscope the blood was found to contain bat • small portion of vitalised
corporal's; the heart'' action was feeble ; the pulse intermittent; the stomach could
not digest properly, so that flatulency and acidity was the result. Finding the symp-
toms udioat.d Ceemooption, I determined to use every effort tostay its progress, and,
if possible, to cure it. I selected the most powerful tonics and moderators, and com-
bined them with the vital constituents of the human body. For months I endrav•
orad to amalgamate them before my efforts were crowned with success. I ea:not
spiel too pimely or too strongly of the affects reduced, and the beuefta I r. cei.-

At first my appetite increased ; tl.e exp ctor•ition became easy, digestion better ;
the (m ce-s become more c)pious and lesi frequent ; oold chills ceased ; night-eweata
leasenetf ; I gained is weight ; the Lacking tough left me ; refreshing sleep returned ;
my spirit' became buoyant, the mini active and vigorous. I continued taking the
Syrup month after month ; but owiag to the damp, foggy climate of St. John, my
recovery was necessarily stow, although I could observe a gradual return of strength
for three years, during which time I continued taking the remedy. My present weight
is one hundr'd and eighty-eight, being thirty-eight above my usual. I hate no symp-
