DIES IN KITCHENER

70, a Kitchener surgeon who

ed in Kitchener since 1910. He
was a past president of the K-W

chief of surgery ato both K-V17 and
St. Mary's hospitals,
Dr. Lackner, born in Kitchener,
was a son of Dr. Henry George
Lackner and the former Helen
Mackie.
Atter graduation irom the
University of Toronto School of.
Medicine in 1907, he interned in
Toronto and did post-graduate
work in London, Berlin and
Vienna. He, entered his father's
practice in 1910.
Dr. Lackner was a member
colonel of the 24th Field Ambu-
lance RCAMC (new 12 Medical
Company), a charter member of
the K-W Rotary Club, a founder
of the Chicopee Ski, Club and co-
founder of the Central Ontaria.
Horse Show,
He raised and bred American
saddle horses at his Chicopee
Valley farm and was a frequent
winner at both the Royal Winter
Fair and the Canadian National
Exhibition,
Dr. Lackner was a member of
the University of, Waterloo
board of governors and St.
Andrew's PresbYterian Church,
Surviving are his wife, the
former Matilda McRae; one son,
Dr. H. Allister Lackner, of,
Kitchener; a sister, Mrs. George
T. Mumford, of Kitchener, and.
two grandchildren, one of whom,
Dr. John Lackner, was a 1968
medical graduate.
