Couple On 40th Anniversary
Thursday evening, April 16th, a
party was held in Ethel COMMA'
it Centre by the fatnily of Mr, and
Mrs. Carl McDonald to honor ttiem
on their fortieth Wedding Anni-
versary.
The bride of foriey years ago
was the former Hilda Hewitt of
Listowel. Their bridal attendants
were Mrs. Gordon Heath, form-
ely Edna Eveleigh, and Mir.
Irvine Hewitt, ,Listowel, who
were both present at the An-
niversary party.
The marriage took place at
the Methodist Parsonage List-
owel with the ceremony being
performed by Rev. E. W.
Ddwards.
Guests were received by their
daughters Mrs. Norman Coghlin
of Atwood and Mrs Chester Earl
of Ethel.
The evening was spent in
playing progressive euchre after
which a few musical numbers
were enjoyed.
Congr'atulations, best wishes,
and gifts were bestowed on the
happy couple. They also received
a telephone message from their
son, Stanley McDonald, who is
in the ministry, and was unable
to attend.
A dainty lunch was served.
Guests were present from
Listowel, London, Atwood, Wrox-
eter, Brussels and community.

The local Horticultural Assoc-
iation wish to announce two
contests:
(1) A scrap book collection or
tree leaves, open , to all students
10 years of age and under.
Leaves "must. be named, pressed
and mounted. A hard cover scrap-
book 8" x 10" of not more than
30 pages. Entries forwarded to
Mrs. ,Ella Shurrie not later than
December 31st, 1964. The name,
