Cubs and Brownies, with their
leaders held their annual Church
Parade on Sunday at St. John's
Anglican Church' The Rev. H. L.
Jennings, conducted the service.

The four Patrol Leaders of
the Brussels Girl Cuides
attended- a "Patrol Training"
in Goderich on Saturday. Fifty
five Girl Guides from various
other places were also in attend-
ance. It was held on the
Founder's birthday, in whose
memory the Commissioner, Miss
Mary McMillen, lit candles on
'the Trefoil.
The Easter Seal Campaign in
aid, of crippled children is
sponsored locally by the
13rtissels Lions Club. The seals
have beets distributed and it is
hoped every one will be as
generous as possible on behalf
idf our crippled youngsters.

Producers are bolding a meeting
that should be of interest to all
'Egg Producers in Huron County
on February 28, 1964 at 8:30 p.m.
in Ontario Dept. of Agriculture
Board Rooms.

Couple Honored
On Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Bert Heibein
were guests of honor when
they were entertained by her
sisters, and their families on the
occasion of their 40th wedding
anniversary. The gathering was
held in Brussels at the home of
Mrs. Lottie McCutcheon. The
couple were presented with a
pole lamp.
Mr. and Mrs. Heibein were
also honored by members of
their immediate, family on Sat-
urday evening when they gather-
ed at Their home for a surprise
party. The couple, were presented
with a budgie bird; cage and
stand.

Members of Ethel Women's
Institute held their February
meeting at the home of Mrs.
Ralph Keifer.
"A hobby for my old age was
given in response to the roll call.
Mrs., Ed. Gill discuss the motto,
"The best preparation for to-
morrow is to do today's well".
The program featured a dem-
onstration on making New York
squares by Mrs. Tom McFarlane.
It was decided, to sell tickets
on a ham to he drawn for at the
euchre party next month. It was
reported that there were twenty
tables in play at the February
euchre party.
Mrs. Tom McFarlane was
the winner of the draw for place

death of Mrs. C. Richards (nee
Fern. Eekmier) in Hamilton this
Week.

GREY FEDERATION TO
SPONSOR 4-H
TRACTOR. CLUB
The second meeting 01 the
Grey Township Federation was
held at the home of Wilfred
Strickler on February 19th.
The directors discussed the
forming of a 4-H Tractor Club in
connection with the Brussels
Fall Fair. Mr. Strickler and Ross
Smith offered to contact men to
be leaders for same. Since time
is short any boy or •girl in-
aerested in this club could give
their name 'to either' of the
above mentioned, or to the
secretary.
The directors are also planning
a bus trip to visit farms in
another area, however the date
has, not yet been settled.

in the Agricultural Board rooms

Police vs OKNX Wingham hockey
game played in the arena here on
Wednesday night .
The affair was ueciared a
success in every respect. A
gra;tifying number of tickets
were sold yielding a nice sum
for the Oddfellows' OP&T Fund,
a worthy cause. A fine crowd.
were in attendance at the
hockey game, in spite of the
"blustery" weather, and gave
every indication of enjoying a
good hockey game.
The end of the game saw the
OKNX team the victors scoring
a 6 - 3 win over the Brantford,
Police.
The winning draw ticket was
picked by a. member of the
Brantford team.

FATHER, SON BANQUET1
The annual 'gather and Son
Banquet of the Boi Scout Assoc-
iation was held on February 19th.
in St. Ambrose. Church with an
attendance of eighty.
Rev. G, Frecker of Wingham,
Parish Priest, held the attention
of an interested audience while
he spoke on the responsibilities
of fathers to their sons and the
need for boys to respect their
parents,
The Coco-Cola Co. sent slides
of the' World Scout Jamboree
held in Greece in 1963 and also
the Brussels 'World's Fair, which.
were much enjoyed.

Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hudson of ,
Goderich. spent a few days with,
Mr. and Mrs,. FL G. Nelson and
family.
Miss Kate McNabb, Temisk-
aming, visited with Mr and Mrs.
Martin MacDonald on the week-
end.
Congratulations to Mr. and
Mrs. Dick Bradshaw on the
arrival of their son, on Febr-
uary 19th, in Listowel Hos-
pital, also, to Mr. and Mrs. Jack
Knight, on the birth of a. son on
Saturday, 'February 22nd,

The February Educational
meeting of Cranbrook Women's;
Intitnte was held at the home
of Mrs. Frank Smith. Mrs. Bill
Bremner , presided at the meet-
ing.
The meeting opened with the
Ode, the Mary Stewart Collect
and the Lord's Prayer.
The minutes were read by
Mrs. Glenn Huether and the
treasurer's report given.
For the roll call, subjects for
one minute speeches were
drawn.
The motto "Consider the
turtle, he doesn't make progress,
until be sticks his neck out"
was taken by Mrs. Ross Knight.
Thank you notch were read
from Mr. and Mrs. Doug Evans,
and Mr. and. Mrs. A. Bird.
It was decided to. give $10.00
to the Agricultural Society for
4-K work and $10.00 to the arti-
ficial Ice Fund. It was- also
decided to pay one half the ex-
pensea of the Ethel 4-H girls
as some of the Cranbrook. girls,
are taking their training with
the Ethel girls.

"Thinking Day" with the 1st
and 2nd Brussels Brownie Pack
in the school auditorium.
Th e Brownies held their Part
and Kathleen Krauter, Debra
Callander, Ann Machan, Dianne
Machan received their 3rd Year
Brownie Star.
The Guides then formed their
patrols and then their horseshoe
where Gail MelThirter and
'Bonnie Pletch were received
by walking into the Guide
Company. !Penny Lowe and Judy
Work received their Brownie
Wings and flew into the Guide
Company. The receiving Brown-
ies were met by the selected
patrol leaders and were• pre-
sented to the Captain, Mrs, Ken
Sholdice and then introduced to
the patrols. Lieutenant 'Ceiling-
ton called the names of the
!Guides getting their attendance
stars as follows:

Anne Oldfield, Dorothy Elliott.
Mary Gibson and Vonne Mc-

The Guide "Thinking Day"
consisted of the Guides repeat-
ing the ten Guide Laws of other
countries and lighting candles
on the Guide Trefoil. Doroth?
Elliott was the narrator and
others taking part were Gail
Prior, Gail McDonald, Anne
Oldfield, Linda Martin, Dianne
and Ann Machan, Joyce Kelling-
iton, Debra Callander, Kathleen
Krauter and Mary Gibson,
The meeting of the Guides
closed with a song called "Golden
Sun".
Guides and Brownies then
joined together in a sing song
before lunch was served.
Mrs. 0. Elliott thanked the
Guide motherg: for attending.
Miss Mary McMillen, District
Commissioner, thanked the par-
ents and the Leaders for their
wonderful help they have given
the Guides and Brownies.
Mrs. L. 'Cousins spoke to the
tiarents about the L.A. program
