A low '21-inch centre of gravity
combined with a special suspen-
sion which is unorthodox in
passenger e are, though it has
beep. used in racing cars, makes
the 'Epic a surprisingly stable
car on snow-covered or wet
roads.
The Apic's rear springs are
mounted to special levers on the
axel casing, which work in comb-
ination - with a torque tube en-
casing the driveshaft. This
provides fall soft spring when
the car is stable, but fights
against rolling action through
the levers which reduce the
action of the springs.
This is an important deParts
ure from the usual praetice or
attaching the axel directly to
the springs.
The front 'independent su-
spension is normal except that
coil springs are replaced by a
transverse three-leaf spring..
The use of this sort of spring
makes the front end highly roll
resitant without loss of spring-
ing.
The Steering is light and sensi-
tive and the car makes a com-
plete circle in only M feet.
Interior appointments stress I
comfort and utility. Two simple •
llefvera control heating and
ventilating, and all controls are
at easy fingertip reach. The
instrument cluster includes
simple rocker pushbutton
Switches for windshield wipers,
headlights 'and parking lights,
and two large dials give easy-
tiasee readings of fuel, ignition,
oil, heat and speed.

through the deep-dish, two-
spoke steering wheel.
