THE BRUSSELS POST, THURSDAY, JANUARY 23, 1964 POST PUBLISHING HOUSE
Former Brussels Resident Officially
Opens New Artificial Ice. Plant Here
SHORT
SHOTS
Our January thaw is a pleasant
contrast to the below zero
weather we suffered last January.
* •
Don't burn those old papers
and magazines, Save them fQr
the Scent paper drive in the
early spring.
••
We didn't blame the members
,of the Pipe Band for wearing
their trousers instead of their
kilts when playing at the the
-arena on Monday night. We
suspect it would have been a
mite chilly otherwise. Though
they didn't look as dashing, it
didn't affect the skirl of their
pipes, it came out sounding
21thighty nice".
• • •
Youngsters of all ages, tiny tots;
middle sized, and long legged
young teenager, swarmed over the
'ice at the arena on Frida.y after-
noon for their first classes in
figure skating, under the direction.
of Miss Faye Love. We were
pleased to note that among the
fifty children, in six classes,
there were a number of boys. It
was good to see so many inter-
ested in the graceful art of figure
.skating.
