toured the town just before
Chrismas and stated the house
decorations were outstanding
and they were glad they didn't

participate in the newly estab-
lished Ontario Women's Safety
Awards program, The provincial
winner will be eligible to compete
for the national Carol Lane Safety
Awards.

William Evans passed away in
WinglIam hospital on Friday,
December 27th, after a lengthy
illness,
William Evans, son of the late
James Evans and Elizabeth
'Bruce, was born in East Zorrai
measnshio. Oxford County, in
1.876, moving to Morris Town.

age. He lived most of his life
in Morris. Grey and Brussels
He leaves to mourn his loss

sels one sister, Mrs. Ella King
of .Elora. Mrs, .ertigh Elliott of
Brussels is a cousin. One sister,
Mrs. John (Bessie) McNair pre-

Bann funeral home, Rev. A. John-
officiated.
Burial took place in Brussels

The inaugural meeting of the
Village Council for 1964 was held
in the lVkanicirpal Office on Jan-
uary 6, all members being pre-
'ent' The D'eclara'tion of Offices
were taken by the Clerk after
which Reverend A. Johnston -of
the Brussels 'United Chureh
spoke to Council, stressing the
Poftan,ce of inviting con-
structive criticism, 'to stick to
their Judgement, and to be
faithful to their job. The Reeve.
Mr. Krauter, thanked Mr. John-
aton for his part in the ceremony,
and welcomed the three new
members, Hank TenPas, Lawrie.,
Cousins and Cecil. McFadden. Wm.

Marked New Year's Day
New Year's Day 1964 was a
special time -for Mr. and Mrs.
Milton Fraser of RR 5, Brussels. '
They celebrated their 40th
wedding anniversary by entertain-
ing 24 of their relatives and
friends to a delicious turkey din-
ner at the New American Hotel in;
Brussels. The table was taste-
fully arranged, the centre of
attraction being a beautifully
decorated four tier wedding cake
made by their daughter, Mrs. Jack
Cox.
Mr. and Mrs. Fraser were mar-
ried 'January 1st, 1924, at the home
of the bride's parents, the late Mr.
and Mrs. Robert Shaw of. Blue-
vale. Milton. Fraser is the son of
petpt. Frnso.. and the late Mrs.
Fraser of Big. Rtver, Bask. Mrs:
Bernice (S10,w)Heaslip of Dunn-
ville was, present for the cele-
bration. She was their brides-
maid in 1924.
Mr. and Mrs. Fraser are active
in church work, being members
of the Bluevale United Church.
Mrs. Fraser is also active in the
'Women's Institute. Mr. Fraser is
a member of the Legion Branch
218 of 'Brussels being a veteran or
World 'War T. He was overseas
from Sept. 1915 until the end of
I the war, May 1919.
The couple • have two children,
Robert at home and Dorothy (Mrs.
Jack •Cox) of Brussels and six
grandsons.
Mr. and Mrs. Fraser thank all
their relatives and friends for
the many beautiful gifts and
anniversary cards received,
