Hear Talk On Grecian Trip

guest speaker 'Wednesday night
at. the meeting of the Brussels
Home and School Association,
held in the kindergarten room
of the public School. Mr. Ackert
was ire charge of a group of
Canadian. Boy Scents Who attend-
ed the Scout Jamboree in Greece
in the summer. With the help of a
series of color slides taken by
himself, he told, a thrilling story
'of his trip. An array of
souvenirs, flags, and rnernentoeS
of limey countries was arranged
on a table to be viewed.,
Mrs. Ross IVIcCall introduced
the speaker, and Mrs, Cherie%
Arnold thanked 'him and present-
ed him with a gift, The Boy
Scouts and Cubs of Brussels

of their leaders, Douglas Callender
and David Kranter.

Horticultural Society Enjoy
Pictures And Commentary
The November meeting of the
'Brussels Horticultural Society
was held in the Brussels Library
,on November 18th at 8:30.
There were 31 members and
nine visitors present. The
president, Mrs. D. A. Rann,
'presided. The September min-
' 'tiles were read. Roll call was an-
swered by something pertaining
to Christmas. Members brought
:IChristznas decorations which
were sold and •113.10 made, Mrs.
'Bert Hemingway, Mrs, Wm.
Miller, Mrs. Donald Dunbar, were
appointed a nominating corn-

It was decided pot to make

petitive but to ask residents and

Fire Destroys Morris Township Barn
Season Crop of Grain, Hay Also Burnt
The barn on the farm of Mies
Roby Bone, 3rd concession of
Morris Township, was destroyed
by fire early Monday morning
The entire season's crop of
grain and hay, as well as s
tractor, seed drill and other
implements were lost in the
fire,
The blaze, believed to have
been started by lightning, Rat
first noticed at 5:30 ease
Neighbours succeeded ire get-
ting the cattle out of the barn
'before firemen arrived.
The Brussels fire brigade and
the Morris tank truck answered
the summons.
