FARM SHOW CELEBRATES.
BIG 25th ANNIVERSARY.
The rith Anniversary of the
Farm Show will be held February
27ith Lo March 2nd in the Manu,
CEie,turers Building at the Western.
Pair Grouods in London,
The Farm Show, which had its
origin 2.5 years ago as the
Middlesex Seed. Fair, was first
bold in the London Armouries.
From a modest start it. grew
rapidly in popularity and was
moved to Western Fair Grounds
tow years later.
Special plans for the anni-
versary celebration inclued silver
trophies to be awarded to the
champion exhibitors in the
different shows and a special
silver tea service for the Farm
Show Princess,
The:two large floors of the
Planufactttres Building' are filled
to overflowing with educational
and commercial exhibits plus
competitive entries of seed grain,
corn, beans, potatoes, bacon
carcasses tobacco.
Of special interest 10 the ladies
will be the food show area with
exhibits of home baking and
preserved fruit. A 'fashion show
and program for the ladies will be
held Wednesday. evening, Febru-
ary 27 at. 8:06 pan, in the theatre.
The opening feat re of this pro-
gram will he the crowning of the
Farm Show PrincesS, the Baking
(Weil and rho 13a,kiag Princess,
Bemostrations of rug mahlag,
needle point, and knitting will be
conducted for the ladies iii the
second floor demonstration area,
both Th day aPteraoon and
Friday afternoon at 2:30 P.m.
PeAure speakers and panels
on a variety of interesting
subjects are lined up for after-
noon programs each. day.
Thursday evening will see the
inter-C.ounty junior Farmer's
Square Dance Competition, which,
will have added prizes for Junior
On Friday evening March 1 the
junior Amateur. Contest Will be
held at 8:90.p.m, while the Public
School Square Dance Competition.
will follow at '0;00 p.m.
Salburday afternoons big wind
lip program will start. at
1:45p.m. with the presentationn
of major awards and the alwaYS
Popular Hog Calling Contest.
This will be followed at 2:30 p.m.
by the auction sale of 10 bushel
and 4 bushel lots of grain and
beans and 2 bag lots Of Potatoes,
