Mr. and Mrs. EarPer Wood of Palmerston visited at the same home on Sunday„ Brie Exel, son, of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Exel, had a narrow escape, when he was bitten on the boot by a skunk. Fortunately the boy was not bitten as it is feared the- animal was rabid; Ned Rutledge destroyed the animal and cats in case they had been infected. 'Meeting A Rnost successful Annual Ciongregational meeting of Mel_ ville Church! was held in the, Church basement On Friday. 18th Jahuary. 'Time evening commenced at seven o'clock with a potluck supper, Served by the ladies of the congregation, which was greatly enjoyed by the many families Dreamt. After the supper, a brief' period of worship was conducted by the minister. The business meeting followed being presided over by Rev. W. J. Morrison, and the various reports, of the organ i.. nations were presented, reviewed and discussed. These reflected a very successful year financially, Some extensive alterations to the kitchen and washrooms had been carried out. A visit by the Waterloo Life Assurance in November provided an enjoyable and inter. eatingprogramme of music', greatly appreciated by the large ;.number of Brussels reSidents who attended. The Rev. Morrison thanked the members of Kirk Session and all others who had supported him in his work over the year, also all who had faithfully served in maintaining the Ctliurch's work. Some Musical items ware very tastefully presented by leading choir members and other talented church .members. The Children were catered for by a programme of film strips In the church parlour, in charge of Dave Kratter and Doug Elliott. CRANBROOK Personals Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd hiall on the birth of a daughter in Listowel Hospital on Saturday, January 26th Mr. and. Mrs. Alien Dunn, Rickey and 13onita, :Kitchener, and 1%Ir. and Mrs. 'Stanley Minchan, Listowel, visited on Sunday with Mr. and :Mrs. Earl Dunn. Ala% and Mrs. Ross Speiran, Saginaw, visited with Mr. and iered .Sinalldon and other friends over the week-encL Miss Certie Pride returned home with them after spending a month in Saginaw. Mrs. Lylle Gordon received word on Saturday of the sudden death of Miss Maude Gordon, of Wallaceburg. Miss Gordon had been visiting in Mexico with nor brother Lytle, who is spend- ing the winter there. The remains are being brought home to ,Wrallaeeburg for burial, Mies Gordon has visited here fre- quently.
