Mr. Fischer, who was horn in
'Logan township, moved, with his
parents, to Grey township in 1900. I
Mrs. Fischer, the former Sarah, 1
01-1'31-M1 an. was horn in Howick.
erehowing their. marriageeett the I
home of her sister, the late Mrs. Geo.4 . Topleam and Mr. Topham of Howick,
they farmed in Grey until coming to- I
Brussels in 1942, Mr. Fischer con-1
ducted the `;Massey Harris business
here until his retirement in 1953.
They have a family of two eons-
and two daughters, Stanley, of Grey
township; Mrs. Bernard (Mae)
Thomas of Morris township; Mrs.
Wan. (Verla) Hastings, Kitchener,
and .Hartley of ListoweL One son,
Eugene, died in infancy. They have
ten grandchildren.
Mr. and Mrs. Fischer are members
of Melville Presbyterian Church
where he is a member of the kirk
session and Mrs. Fischer a member
of the women's groUps, Mrs. Fischer
is also a. Member of Morning Star
Rebekah Lodge.
Both are in good health and.

POPPY DAY
The annual Poppy Campaign of
the local branch of the Royal,
Canadian Legion will be held on
SATURDITAY, NOVEMBER 10th,
The success of this campaign,
depends on our local citizens,
whom we hope will all purchase
a lapel poppy from the canvas- )
sees on the street or when they
call at your home, The poppy I
fund is held in trust for the one I
specific purpose of helping ex-1
servicemen, and is kept apart
from regular Legion funds,
HELP ITS TO HELP THEM
The Governor's address was both
enlightening and interesting. The
speaker was thanked and presented
with a gift by Lion Geo. McCutcheon
bn behalf of the club.
Donald Dunbar was winner of the!
guessing contest. The winning ticket'
for the "Suit of the Month", draWn
by the Governor, was that of Hank
Ten Pats. The Lions - will sponsor
another such draw again next month.
The Brussels Lions Club is one of

locations. They are actively engaged
in the support of Week with Retarded
and Crippled Cthildren and in Sighti
Conservation. They have sponsored
