The fourth meeting of the
Brussels Vegetarians was held
at the home of Mrs. Jack
Wheeler on -September 29 at
9:00 o'clock, with eight mem-
bers present.
The meeting opened with the
4-H Pledge. The minutes were
read by Joan Aleock. The roll
call was, "The dinner menu I
planned," The `notes were then
discussed; notes were read
aloud.
Alice Devries then demon-
strated potato and tomato soup.
Dianne Kirkby denionstrated
double boiler scalloped cab-
bage.
After these were sampled by
everyone, the meeting closed
with the singing of "God Save
the Queen:"

The October meeting of Oran.
brook Women's Institute was
held in the Community Centre
on October 2, Mrs. Bill Brem-
ner conducted the opening ex-
ercises, Guests from Moncrieff
Institute were welcomed by
the president.
The motto, "If you cannot be
a star, you need not be a
cloud," was quite ably done by
Mrs. Murray Huether.
Two invitations were read,
from the Seaforth. Institute to
attend their meeting on Oct. 9,
and from Majestic Institute to
attend their meeting on Oct. 18.
Mrs. Jan Van Wet, Jr., was
the guest at the meeting, act:
tug as "Miss Joyce" for the
nine junior guests. She conduct-
ed many action songs and
games, which were much en-
joyed by the children and mem-
bers present.
Each member responded to
the roll call by donating a bowl
to the hall. A penny auction
was conducted, when $11 was
realized. Lunch was served,
