The October meeting of the
WMS of Melville Church was
held in the church parlor on
Friday afternoon with Mrs, W.
W. Smith, president, in the
chair. •
Mrs. George Elliott read the
scripture lesson and Mrs. James
Ireland offered prayer. Mrs.
William. King read a Thanksgiv-
ing poem on Autumn, and the
roll call was responded to by
a Thanksgiving thought.
Mrs. William Somers gave a
talk on current events gleaned
from the October Record and
Glad Tidings.
Arrangements were made for •
the holding of the Sectional
Meeting of Maitland Presbyter-
ial in Melville Church on Oct,
26, commencing at 2:30. Miss
Beatrice Scott, missionary on
furlough, will he the special
speaker.
After the singing of a hymn,
a very interesting topic on Faith
was given by Mrs, W. 4*. Mor-
rison, following a short talk on
the mission work of the Pres-
byterian. Church WMS in Ire-
land, Which were sending eight
missionaries to Africa this
autumn..
The meeting closed with a
hymn and the Mizpah Benedic-
tion,
