A native of Grey ''ownship,
Miss Kay Stevenson, 54, died
soddenly Sunday in Ethel. Born
on March 3, 1908, she was a
daughter of the late Mr, and
Mrs. William C. Stevenson. She
was a member of Ethel United
Church, and is survived by one.

MRS. ROBERT COCHRANE
Mrs. Sarah Margaret Coch-
rane, 84, of Brussels, widow of
Robert Cochrane, died Tuesday
in the Wingham Hospital, She
was born in West Zorra, laugh
ter of the late Joseph Vance and
his wife, the former Hanna
Armstrong.
Following her marriage in
1903 she moved 'to Grey Town-
ship, Where they farmed until
Cochrane's death in 1940,
She had ;been a resident of
Brussels for the past 14 years,
and was a member of Brussels
United Church.
She is survived by one daugh-
ter, Mrs, William (Ida) Evans,
Brussels. A son, Ernest, died
in ,.1938.
The body rested at the D. A,
Dann funeral home, Brussels,.
where a service was held Thurs-
day at 2 p.m., with Rev. A. K.
Griffiths, of Brussels United
Church Officiating. Burial was
made in Brussels cemetery.

Word was received rast Tues-
day of the sudden passing of
Richard Arthur Bewley, of 163
Betty Ann Dr., Willowdale. The
late Mr. Bewley, who suffered a
heart attack at Queen Alexan-
dra Sschool, was in his 47th
year, He was born in Morris
Township, son of the late
Joseph Bewley, and received his
early education at S.S. No. 9,
Morris, Brussels Continuation
School and Clinton Collegiate.
Upon graduation from Strat-
ford Normal, he taught at S.S.
No. 12, GreY Township, and S.S.
No, 9, McKillop Township,
Petrolia, and in 1947 moved to
Toronto, where he taught until
his death, He received his B.A.
and Master of Education de
grees from the University of
Western Ontario.
In 1944. he married Margaret
McIntyre, of West Lorne, who
survives, along . with two chil-
dren, Elizabeth, 11 years, and
Janice, 7 years. His mother,
Mrs. Gertrude Bewley, and one
brother Walter, of Walton, also
survive.
The funeral was held from
the Kane funeral home, Friday,
Sept, 28, with the Rev. A. W.
Jones, of Willowdale United
Church, conducting the serv-
ice. Pallbearers were three
t e a c her colleagues, Sidney
Brown, Kenneth Querengesser
and Allen Cleghorns, and three
neighbors, Dr: R. Allman, Jack
Sword and Al Durling.

The bride is the daughter of
Mr, and Mrs. W, J. Nicholson,
Jamestpwn, and the groom, a
son of Mr. and Mrs, William
Bishop, of Ethel.
'Mrs. Glen Johnston played
the wedding music and accom-
panied soloist Carol Robertson,
Bluevale, who sang "The Lord's
Prayer" before the ceremony,
and "0 Perfect Love" during
the signing of the register.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride looked lovely
in a fioor-length gown of French
lace over nylon net over satin.
The skirt was fashioned with
tiers of lace, while the fitted
bodice featured a sabring neck-
line accented with seed pearls
and sequins. Her fingertip veil
of silk illusion net fell from a
crown of sequins and pearls,
and she carried a cascade - of
white mans and red roses.
Attending the bride as ma-
tron of honor was her sister,
Miss Marlene Nicholson, and
bridesmaids, Miss Shirley John-
ston, Bluevale, and Miss Winni-
fred Bishop, sister of the groom.
The three attendants were
gowned alike in street-length
red lace over taffeta dresses,
with matching accessories: They
carried cascades of white Mints
and red carnations.
Mr. Ross Nicholson was best
man, while ushers Were Mr. Roil
Diehl, Moliktoh, and Mr, Keith •
Nicholson.
A reception was held in the
church parlors where the bride's
Mother received the guests,
wearing a rose beige lace over
taffeta sheath with beige acces-
sories, and a corsage of pink
mums. Assisting was tit e
groom's mother, wearing a blue
:figured dress With matching ac-
cesabries and a corsage of yel-
low mums.
For a wedding trip to North-
ern Ontario and Quebec, the
bride donned a gold silk Mead-
ed dress With Matching awes,
SbrieS and brown fur jacket.

The young 'couple will' reside

candidate, on. Thursday con-
verted to Liberal what had for
19 years been a Progressive
Conservative stronghold. He
defeated Huron County War-
dell, George MeCutcheon, to
win the riding of, Huron-Bruce
in a close contest.
Mr, Gaunt drew 6,922 votes
to the 6,203 cast for Mr, Mc-
Cutcheon, in the two-party race.
The seat was made vacant by
the death last March of John
W. Hanna, who wrested it from
the Liberals in 1943 and held it
until he died, In the last gen'
era' election in 1959 Mr. Manna,
Of Wingham, defeated Liberal
candidate Rae J. Watson in an-
other two-party contest by 6,-
683 votes to 5,375.
