Until the driver has cleared his record, a further accumulation of 15 points within a 2-year period will result in suspension for six months. Upon conviction, points are recorded against the driver for the offences listed in the Point System Scale.. Demerit points re- main on a driver's record for a, period of two years after the date of conviction. At 6 points The driver is informed of his record and urged to exercise greater care. At 9 points The driver is required to attend a personal infer- • view to discuss his record and 'give reasons why his licence should not be suspended.
